Yosemite Photos

Hi Everyone!! We went sightseeing inside Yosemite today and visited Yosemite village.

Yosemite is so beautiful with so many beautiful natural landmarks. Everything is so majestic. For those who have never visited Yosemite, well. . .I do recommend it.

Yosemite Village has a bunch of restaurants, gift shops, and lots of out door activities. If you don't like roughing it in the wild, there's a lot of activities at the village that will entertain you!!

I took a lot of pictures today. Check out this tree! See how huge the trunk is. . .I forgot what type of tree this is. . .I think it may be Sequoia.

This is the bottom of a tree that fell down.

I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the mountains. This one isn't covered with snow. It's actually granite that is reflecting the sun so it looks like there's snow on it. Most of Yosemite is not snowing at this time.

Here us another view of the mountain. Isn't it pretty?

This is one of the waterfalls that we visited. It's about 1/2 a mile from the parking lot so it's not really far to actually get to the base of the waterfall.
We had so much fun today visiting the different sites. I'll post more tomorrow!! I have to run. . .heading out to dinner.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Well. . .this is actually yesterday's photo on our way to Yosemite. It looks pretty ominous! Yup. . .it was raining but we arrived safely at Yosemite! There is a lot of things in life to be thankful for. . .and arriving in one piece is one of them! LOL!!

Thank you for being such wonderful blog readers, blog commenters, and blog friends!! It's been another wonderful year of getting to know all of you, meeting new people, creating, and sharing!!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful day, eating turkey, spending time with family. . .

I'll blog a few photos each day. . .there's a lot of beautiful things to see here at Yosemite. It's too bad the weather will prevent us from roughing it in the wild!! LOL! We won't be camping outdoors that's for sure. We're staying at the Tenaya Lodge. . . we are the "I don't rough it in the wild" sort. . . gotta have a bed, restaurants, and room service!!! Besides, I'm afraid of bears, snakes, and all those creatures roaming around. I wouldn't know what to do if I came across one. LOL!

Anyway. . .have a great day everyone!!
Update:

Look at what we woke up to this Thanksgiving morning!! It's nice and SUNNY!! Yay!! I was getting a bit worried that our vacation will be rained out!! We'll be doing a bit of hiking today . . .just taking advantage of the sunny weather!

Anyway. . .just a few photos I took this morning at the Tenaya Lodge. The photo above is the lodge we're staying at.

This is a picture of the entrance area of the lodge. They already have Christmas decorations up. How fun!! Anyway, we had a nice breakfast and we returned to the room to rest a little before we head out!
Hope you all have a beautiful day!

More Updates. . .today's hike! Roughing it in the wild a little. . :)

Hi Everyone!! We're back from our hike. We hiked about 4 miles today. . .we were going to go further but we were afraid it was going to rain. The day started off sunny but as the day progressed it began to get a bit foggy. We did manage to hike it down to the river. . .it was pretty.

The hiking trail was well paved so it was easy to walk through the trail. Here's a photo of the trail with my daughter and husband.

Here's a photo of me and Alexis. We were just playing around! I wish the weather was better. We could explore more but with the weather being unpredictable, we didn't want to venture off the main path in the case it suddenly rained.

I really like this scenic shot of the trees and my daughter. I took a lot of photos.

We're back in the hotel now. . .resting before we head down to the restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner. Yummy!!
Hope you all have a yummy dinner!!

Rachel Ann Miller Christmas

Happy Wednesday, Everyone! I am totally slacking on my Christmas cards and projects! I'm a bit annoyed about it but oh, well! There's always next year! Funny, because I said that last year! Argghh!!

I had colored this image a week ago but I'm only now using it! The colors are not the traditional Christmas colors but the designer paper is actually a Christmas theme so I decided to use this Rachel Ann Miller stamp and this color combo. I don't think the image is a Christmas stamp but it can be if you use Christmas colors.

Again, I colored the image with my Copic Markers. Starting next month, I'll start using different color mediums. . .I use my Copic a lot because the results are very vibrant but also because I'm afraid if I don't use them, they'll eventually dry out before I have a chance to use them.

I bought this Rachel Ann Miller stamp at Jen's store "Little C's Stamps and Things". Hey, come join us at Paper Craft Planet. . .Jen started a Little C's Group site as well as a gathering place for us Hawaiian sistahs. You don't have to be from Hawaii . . .you can just hang out with us . . .we're all about the Aloha!! Give and share the love. . .LOL! Well the group site is called "Spam Musubi, Shave Ice n' Stamps"

Hey. . .we're heading out to Yosemite for Thanksgiving. We've been trying for 3 years to vacation there and each time the weather prevented us from heading there. Last year, it snowed in and they closed the roads. Argggh.

Well, we decided to head out this year and guess what! The weather forecast says it's going to rain when we're there. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa! That's okay. . .we'll still have a good time anyway. I'll take photos and post it while I'm there. .. I'm bringing my laptop!! Yay!! We're leaving today!

I have to be honest. . .I forgot that today was challenge day so I had to slap a card together as quickly as possible. Luckily, I had an image that I colored a week ago so creating this card was really easy. I was going to add a star. . .just like the sketch but it didn't match my image so I decided to use the butterfly instead.

The butterfly is a image on the designer paper that I cut out. I added a bit of Stickles to the butterfly and parts of the Rachel Ann Miller image.

High Hopes Marissa

Happy Monday, Everyone!! Isn't this image the cutest or what? It's huge too! Lots of image to color. . .if you love coloring, this is image is the one for you!

The image is by High Hopes and you can find it at Jen's of Pieces of Me online store "Little C's Stamp n' Things". It's called Miss Marissa. I love the High Hopes images because they're big and really, really cute. Click on the banner below to check out Little C's have to offer!!

I colored the image using my Copic Markers, cut part of the flower, bow, and heart and mounted them with foam tape. I added a bit of SU Crystal Effects on to parts of the image. So fun!!

Hey. . .for Thanksgiving, my family and I are heading to Yosemite. Whoohoo! I can't wait. I've never been to Yosemite. We've tried to vacation there several times but something always got in the way. . .last year, the snow stopped us. Arggh. . .the roads to Yosemite was closed down because of an unexpected snow storm.

I highly doubt that this year it'll snow because here in California, it's still in the 80s. It's unbelievable that it's still in the 80s. . .2 weeks ago, we had temperatures in the 90s. If this isn't global warming, I don't know what it is.
Anyway. . .I like what I did with the sentiment. . .I never attached the sentiment with bows before. Something different for me!! Yay!

Well, I hope y'all have a fabulous day!

I brought out my sewing machine last night and did a bit of sewing. You know , the only time I use my sewing machine is for my cards. How sad to use such a nice sewing machine just for my cards. My goal next year is to do a bit more sewing. . .on fabric! LOL!

Rachel Ann Miller Card

Hey Everyone!! I'm so proud of myself! LOL! I made a card 2 days in a row! Seriously. . .maybe my mojo is returning! My daughter has been busy with her school activities so it has freed me some time to craft a bit. Actually, my daughter is avoiding me because I've been pushing her to finish her essays for her college applications and whenever she sits down to watch TV or come near me, I'll ask her "are you done, yet?". LOL!

I truly hate the college application process. Why do they want so much information. . .can't they just pull her school records? Sheesh. There has to be a better system. Can you imagine having to fill out 10 different applications? It is, quite honestly, very annoying. I can understand why my daughter is avoiding to have to fill them out and in the process avoid me, too!

Anyway. . .now to my card! This is a Rachel Ann Miller stamp. . .so cute! I got it from Jen of Pieces of Me online store Little C's Stamps n' Things. You may also click on the banner above to check out all the goodies that she sell. Honestly, I wish I could buy them all! Maybe one day I'll win the mega millions lottery and I can. I still believe that one day I will win it! I, honestly, feel that I will. LOL! Yeah, right!! But, it's always good to dream. . .it keeps me going. Ha!

I colored the image using my Copic Markers, smudged the background with dye ink using a sponge dauber. I added a bit of Stickles to parts of the image and added a few embellishments. That's it. Easy-peasy!

I had cut the butterfly and slid the image under it. The butterfly was so pretty. . .I couldn't bear to cover it up so I cut one side of the image just enough to slide the image panel under it.
