Little C's Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii Shine Card

Hi Friends! This post is going to be short because I have to drop my daughter off at school. Yes, I'm still doing my 100 mile drive (there and back). . .but not as often as summer. It's not so bad and gives me time to just chit-chat with my daughter during the drive. . .it's really nice.

Anyway, today is my day to post a card or project at Little C's Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii. I decided to use the Greeting Farm image from the "Rain, Snow, Shine" set that you can buy at Little C's. Do you see the sentiment? Well, Little C's is now selling their own line of digital images and the sentiment is from the "Sentiment Corner". Go check out the cute digi images sold there.

I wanted to use the "Shine" image because it was cold the past few days. . .which is good but I'm still in summer mode. LOL!

I colored "Shine" with my Copic Markers and smudged the background with SU Pastels. That's about it.

Verve and Flourishes WCMD Challenge Cards

Hi Friends! These two cards are my submissions for the Verve and Flourishes WCMD Challenge that I participated in on Sunday. There's a funny story behind these two cards (scroll down for the second one). This first card was for the Verve WCMD challenge and the challenge was to pick a flag of any country and use the colors of the flag for your card. I chose the Botswana flag which had the colors blue, black, and white.

Here is the story. . .I was 90% done with the card when I realized that I had used the Flourishes stamp for the flower instead of using a Verve stamp. Uggggh! I was so upset because I was almost finished. To fix it, I added the Verve Starlight Starbright sentiment on my card.

Do you see my card below. . .well, time was ticking and the deadline was almost up so I used the same card for the Flourishes WCMD challenge but changed it up a bit. Scroll down to read how I did it. . .

For the Flourishes WCMD challenge there was a sketch to follow and luckily it worked out. All I did was pull off the white panel which was already adhered to the base for the Flourishes challenge card and tilted it as required by the sketch. I then scooted the ribbon to the left, removed the Verve sentiment and added the flower to the bow. LOL! I would have created a totally different card but the deadline was up so I needed to get the card uploaded as quickly as possible.

By the way. . .I was one of the winners for the Flourishes WCMD challenge using this card. I didn't think my card was all that great so I was a little surprised by it. I wonder if it was a random pick. Regardless, I was so happy to win a Flourishes prize. . .they have really pretty stamps. As a matter of fact, I may stop by and buy a few stamp sets. I love their flower images. . .very pretty.

Just a little info about my card. . .I had masked the flower and stamped it 3 times. I cut out the flower of one of them and remounted it on to one of the flowers. I then cut out the image and mounted on a panel that was CB embossed. I also added a bit of glitter to the image. That's about it.

Anyway. . .I have a TON of projects I need to finish up by today so I have to run!

Stamping Bella SCS WCMD Challenge

Hi Friends! This is my second post for the day! I had participated in the SCS WCMD Challenges and this was one of my submission. The challenge was to create a card that represent what you and your friends do together and incorporate something that represent the 80s. Well, I'm no longer in Hawaii but going to the beach and BBQ'ing were things we did when I was still living there. The 80s part of my card is the plaid designer paper. In the 80s I loved wearing plaid long sleeve shirts. I used them like a jacket. I even have pictures of me with them on! LOL!

Anyway. . .I colored Bella with my Copic Markers. . .added a few Dew Drops that you can buy at Little C's and Prima. That's about it.

I'll be posting the cards I created for the WCMD Challenges on SCS in the next few days. I made a total of 6 of them. I was very productive yesterday!

Christmas Stampin All Year Long #37

I decided to use the SU "Delightful Decorations" for my card this week. Hey, believe it or not but there's no designer paper on this card. I stamped the background. . .which I don't do often nowadays!

There's nothing much to this card. . .I added a little bit of Stickles to the ornaments and that's about it!

So what are your plans for this week? I have a lot of stuff I need to do this week. . .stamping wise anyway. It's one of those week. . .but it's a good thing. I like being busy. . .most times anyway.

Oh. . .did any of you participate in the World Card Making Day Challenges on SCS on the weekend? Well, I did. I was so efficient yesterday. I made 6 cards. . .which is quite rare nowadays. I'll be posting the cards I made throughout the week.

SCS World Card Making Challlenges WCMD09A WCMD9B

Hi Friends! Any of you participated or are participating in the World Card Making Day Challenges on SCS? Well, I decided to play along but it didn't quite work out yesterday so I'm doing a bit of catch up today. You have until midnight EST to complete and upload your cards.

Here is the challenge master thread. There are prizes being given out by different vendors. . .hopefully, I'll win something. . .:)

Anyway. . .this card is for the Crafty Secret Challenge WCMD09B . The challenge is to make your card "pop". . .basically, make a 3D card. I don't have any Crafty Secret stamps so I decided to use my SU "A Rose is a Rose" stamp set.

I basically stamped the rose on card stock and vellum then cut out parts of the image and layered them with the the top of the flower mounted with foam tape. I also added a SU Filigree brad to give the card a little more dimension.

This card is for the Unity Stamp's Challenge WCMD09A. The challenge is to create a card with a quote being the primary image. I have a few Unity Stamp stamps so I decided to use it for my card.

I basically stamped the flower image with SU Pixie Pink ink and the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink. I also added a bit of Stickles glitter to the flower. I also added Dew Drops that you can find at Little C's.

Anyway. . .I'm just about done with my third card.

Hi Friends! Happy World Card Making Day! I wonder with is going in the stamping world today. . .maybe, I'll go and participate in the card making events being held in blogland. Looks like SCS will be hosting a WCMD event. . .here is the challenge thread. I guess they'll be adding on threads throughout the day. There's also a chat thread. Well there's a lot celebrating going on. . . at Little C's Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii featuring Kyoko of Cards and Tags Mania! She is this week's Featured Aloha Blogger! Yay. I decided to use the Greeting Farm "HG Laundry" and Dew Drops that you can find at Little C's. I decided to CASE this cute card created by Kyoko. I colored the image using my Copic Markers and decided to use the sentiment "smile" because poor Hope, she looks tired with all that laundry she has to do! I have that look when I have to do the laundry too! LOL!







Anyway. . .I have a lot of things to do today! I really want to play in the WCMD events so I'll see if I can get the stuff I need to get done as quickly as possible. I got a late start today. . .

Oh, before I go. . last night we went to see Lea Salonga in concert. She's the singer who is the singing voice for Disney's Mulan and Jasmine in Aladdin. She also was part of the original cast of Broadway's Le Miserable and Ms. Saigon.

Last night she sang "On My Own" from Le Miserable. . .one of my favorite song from the Broadway show. The video is her in the role of Eponine. It was a wonderful concert. . .she sang beautifully. We had a great time!

Stampin Up Autumn Harvest Multi-Flap Card

Hi Friends!! Do you see the staging of my card? It's a Thanksgiving theme. I've always loved the staging that people create with their photos but I'm usually VERY lazy to make my photos pretty and such. I typically take a photo with whatever backdrop I have. I recently bought a few Thanksgiving decorative items because they were 40% at Michaels so I decided to use them to stage my photo. Do you like staged photos of cards or do you think it's distracting?

Anyway. . .remember a few days ago, I posted a tutorial on a multi-flap card?

Well, the front flap opens slightly different than the one on the tutorial. Rather than a jacket, I created the flap to go across the card base. I think I like it better this way. Actually, you can create the flap opening in any manner that you want. Be creative.

I water-colored the images using Twinkling H2O. . .they're iridescent watercolors . . .mica powder is added to the watercolor similar to Pearl Ex. It gives the colors a shimmery appearance. You can't really see it in the photo. It's fun to use because you can mix different colors . . . I love the effect.

Hey. . .I bought my last order of Stampin Up stuff as a demonstrator. I didn't sign the IDA. . .for those who aren't Stampin Up demonstrators. . .SU has a new policy that restricts demonstrators in several areas, especially for those who blog. I'm not going to get into it but I didn't sign the contract so September was my last month as a demonstrator.

One of the stuff that I bought is the Autumn Splendor. I love this set. The images are pretty.

Anyway, just a little bit of info on my card. I decided to use the Itty Bitty Betty - Flower Hug image. She is so adorable hugging the flower. I colored my image using my Copic Markers. I decided to make my card a little simpler than I normally do so that the image is the center of attention! Hey, remember yesterday I posted that I hated the new Blogger editor because it didn't have a spell check? Well, there's an option to return to the old editor so I did. The new editor is great if you don't like to stagger your images and if you're a good speller. LOL! The old editor allows for more freedom to play around with your layout and it has spell check but you need to have a little understanding of HTML coding. Another benefit of the old editor is that you can add a "link" to a photo and resize your image to any size which you can't do with the new editor.
