CTMH Nursery Bash

Hey Everyone! After I made the card, I realized I didn't add any ribbon! Amazing. LOL! I rarely make a card with some sort of ribbon on it. I have this thing about adding ribbons to my cards.

Anyway, this card was created using Close to My Heart "Nursery Bash" and "C solos" stamp sets. I colored the image with markers and aquapainter on watercolor paper. Isn't the piggie's cute?

The brads are from CTMH Bigger brads in Key Lime and the swirl clip is CTMH "My Accents Accessories Kit" in cranberry. The designer paper is from the CTMH "Life Delights Level 2 Paper Packet ". The scallop punch is from SU.

Anyway, this was a fun card to create and quite easy. There wasn't enough room on the card to do much of anything to the card so this card was pretty quick to make.

Yup, It's Easter Again!

Good Evening Everyone!! Well, I made another Easter card and this time I added eggs! Yup. What's Easter without the eggs, right?

Anyway. . .same coloring as yesterday's card. I watercolored the image then went over parts of it with my Copic Markers. It's a much, much faster process!!

The pile up image is from Whipper Snapper and the eggs and sentiments are from the Close to My Heart "March Puzzle Set". This is a great set because it has both Easter and St. Patrick's images as well as sentiments. It's like killing two birds with one stone.

The designer paper is by Autumn Leaves and the color combo is Close to My Heart Heavenly Blue and Blush.

Like my previous card, the images are cut out and layered to give them a 3D appearance. It's so fun to do this. It takes a bit of work to cut out the images but I like the end results of cutting and layering the images.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a wonderful evening!!

Until later, folks!!

Another Easter Card! Yay!

Hiya Friends!! Well, I was bit more patient coloring this image. LOL! There's days when I'm really impatient and it shows in my cards! Anyway. . .I found a great way to help me with my blending with Copic markers.

My only "gripe" about Copic markers is that it takes a bit of time to color, blend, etc to arrive at a result that I want. I hate having to use 3 to 5 different markers to create the shades and highlights. That's when I get impatient.

So. . .to help me in the process. . .I watercolored the image and I then colored over the image with my Copic markers. This provided me the different shades without having to use all the different shades of Copic markers. It took only one color of water based markers (with an aquapainter) and 2 shades of Copic! Yay!

If you plan to do this, be sure your watercoloring is dry. Never, ever allow any other medium to mess up your Copic markers!! Those babies are expensive. LOL! To create the highlights, I used acrylic paint. Call me lazy! It's much faster to highlight with the acrylic paint! LOL!

Here's a side angle of the card. I don't know if you can see it but the animal images are 3D because I cut the image out and applied foam tape to "pop" it a little.

I love making my cards 3D. . .it cost more to mail them but it's so fun!

Anyway, the image is by Whipper Snapper. I love, love, love Whipper Snapper. They have the cutest images! The sentiment is by Hero Arts.

The background flowers are by CTMH "Rustic Flowers". I drew in the stems and the leaves. Don't forget to stop by my Close to My Heart website to my right sidebar if you want to take a look at their stamp sets. You can shop online through my website.

Anyway. . .I cleaned up my craft room last night. It looks better today! It actually didn't need much cleaning. I just needed to put away a bunch of things that I piled on top of my desk, vacuum the floor and wipe the table. It only took about an hour to clean up. Wheww! It wasn't so bad afterall!

Until later, folks!!

Just a Mouse Card!!

Hi Everyone! Gosh my room is a disaster zone right now! I can't believe how it looks! I think I'll spend the evening cleaning up a bit! Argghh! I hate the state of chaos that my room is in. It's screaming to be cleaned up. Okay, okay. . .I will!

Anyway, I made this card last night. I'm not liking the way I colored it. The center of the cup is too light but I was in a rush to finish it. My brads are crooked too. I didn't realize they were crooked until after I took a picture of it. I always place them crooked for some reason.

Anyway, nothing much to this card. I colored the Penny Black image using markers and an aquapainter on watercolor paper. Basically, just watercoloring. The DP I believe is by DCWV. I can't remember because this was a scrap DP that was in my scrap pile. The ribbon is by "Textured Trios".

Anyway, I need to clean my craft room before I go crazy! LOL!

Until later. . .

Easter Card

Hi Everyone! I'm starting on my Easter cards already. I try to start early because well, something always comes up and I end up rushing to create the cards!

This card was created using a Penny Black stamp. Isn't it such a cute image! I colored the image using markers with an aquapainter brush on water color paper. I then colored the background using a sponge dauber and stamp pad ink by rubbing the ink to the background.

The designer papers are from Stampin Up and I created the scallop using SU's slit punch.

Not to change the subject but I love watching Indie films and small budget movies and last night my family and I watched "Gone Baby Gone". I have to applaud Ben Affleck for directing his first movie. It was an awesome film. It had lots of twist and turns and Casey Affleck (Ben's brother) did a wonderful job with his character.

I highly recommend this film if you haven't seen it yet. I love the "social dilemma" that this movie addresses. The movie addresses the social dichotomy that we're confronted with regularly in our lives and whether doing the "right" thing is actually the "right" thing in a global sense. Go see it and tell me what you think of the movie!

Be sure to scroll down and check out the RAK I received from Rita!!

RAK from Rita

Hi Everyone! Rita of "Rita's Little Corner" was so sweet to send me this fabulous "get well" card! I've been basically sick for the whole month of January and part of February. It's been horrible. . .cold, flu, bronchitis, upset stomach, the works. . .argghh! I am back to normal but Rita was so nice to send me her beautiful artwork.

Although I'm no longer sick, I started having video program problems, blog memory problems, discouraging emails for switching to CTMH, etc. . .and sometimes, it's hard not to feel discouraged. Well, just when I was ready to just throw in the towel (temporary insanity). . .I received this wonderful card and it made me realize the reason why I love what I do.

It's amazing how a card can give you a different perspective and bring you back to your center. I was grateful to be the recipient of such a kind gesture. Thank you Rita, your card really made me feel better. . .you are the absolute sweetest!!

Stamp and Scrapbooking Club Membership Enrolling for March

Hi Everyone! I'm not sure you're aware of this but I have a "stamp and scrapbooking club" and it's an ongoing enrollment each month. I'm taking new members for March start up date. It's a 3 month membership. Email me at lbmcd66@hotmail.com for the details.

I have a "private" blog site for club members and this "candy bar card holder" is one of the projects I posted with a tutorial. I post tutorials, sketches, and challenges for members that I don't post on my "public" blog sites.

Each month members receive project, card, and scrappy kits that I send to them to put together themselves. I provide the materials and they put the kits together.

I'm not big on promoting on my blog sites but if you're interested in joining, just let me know!

Anyway. . .this is the candy bar holder opened up with the candy inside the pocket.

I used Close to My Heart "Adorable" stamp set item #D1183. Close to My Heart now has their catalog online. You can view it on my Close to My Heart website on my sidebar to the right.

I used CTMH "Hollyhock" and "Chocolate" color combo for both the ink and cardstock.

This is the candy bar out of its pocket. I made a few of these candy bar holder for my daughter to give to her teachers on Valentines.

Just My Style. . .

Hi Everybody! I added extra space to my blogger but I haven't seen the update as of yet. It says it takes about 24 hours. . .I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Anyway, just a card I made. It's actually a card I CASED of my own card! LOL! I needed to make a "girlfriend" card for a friend so I copied a card I had made in the past. I rarely ever duplicate any of the cards I've made but I really liked this design.

The image is from an old retired SU set. I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils with Gamsol. I haven't colored with pencils for such a long time. I feel coloring requires patience and lately, I haven't had any. Right now, I'm into the the quick and easy sort of stampin'. The faster the better!

I sort of miss sitting down and really getting into the process of creating something but lately, I've been rushing into things. . .trying to finish up as quickly as possible. Life has been quite busy lately so I really haven't had the time to enjoy the leisure time I've had in the past to craft.

Anyway, I hope everyone have a wonderful Thursday. Did you check out the cool video by 30 Seconds to Mars on my previous post? I really love the important message that the video is trying to get out to people.

Do any of you have the DVD series "Planet Earth"? I have to say it is one of the most spectacular series of DVDs I've ever seen. My family and I sit together once a week to watch a segment of the DVD. My kids love them. I think it is worth the cost of the series. . .I believe the whole set runs about $50 to $60. I highly recommend the DVD. Check out the review: Click Here.

Until later, folks!!

Will be Gone for a Few Days!!

***UPDATE***
Hi Gang! I decided rather than starting up a new blog for my old stuff, I'm just going to purchase a one time fee of $20 with google and I'll have 10 GB of storage space. I initially looked at Typepad but they only offer 100 MB for $4.95 a month or $49.50 a year. For 500 MB it's $8.95 a month - far less than the free space that blogger offers. Google's blogger offer 1 G (1,000 MB) for free and believe it or not, I'm already close to using up 1,000 MB. Crazy!! I love blogging but not enough to pay $50+ a year. LOL! There's no monetary return with blogging, lots of love, but no mula (money)! Too funny! But I blog for the love of doing it so I'll go the cheapest route possible!

**************************************************

Hi Everyone! I'll be MIA for a few days because believe it or not, I am running out of memory on my blog account. I'm going to open a completely new blog account for both my Card Inspired blog site and this site and archive the older posts to a new blog. Obviously, I'll need to work on it slowly but I need few days to move some of them over. I'm almost at my maximum memory space! With all the posting and uploading of pictures I do, it's no wonder I'm running out of space!! If I don't move the older post out, I'll won't be able to post new pictures!! So, I'll see y'all in a few days!! Hope y'all have a wonderful week!

While I'm away, I'll just torture y'all with my favorite band!! 30 Seconds to Mars and Jared Leto!! LOL! This is a great video, it may not be your type of music, but you'll love the message. Check it out!

Until later. . .

A Girlfriend Card

Hi Everyone! Here is a card I made last night. I haven't used this stamp by MFT for such a long time. I still have a few of them that I've yet to ink.

There's so little time, so many stamps! Argghhh! I colored the image with my Copics Markers. I actually colored this image when I first got my Copics and was practicing with coloring. I think I had set it aside and not used it because I didn't like how it came out but now that I look at it, I think it looks fine. It's a good thing I didn't throw it out. I recommend not throwing out your work if you don't like how it looks. You may have a different perspective later in the future.

The gingham and daisy ribbon is by Making Memories. The scallop is by SU and I believe the cardstock is SU Tempting Turqoise and K&Co designer paper.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day!!

I Am Blessed. . .

Before I begin. . .I just want to say I'm blessed not because of the materialistic aspect of my life but because there are wonderful and caring people in my life, far and near. I really can't ask for any more of life than what I already have. . .

Okay. . .WOW!!!!!!! Look what I received. A whole bunch of happy mail from my wonderful blogger friends. If you don't have a blog, I do recommend that you start one. . .why? Because there are so many nice and sweet people out there that I would not have otherwise met if it weren't for my blogs! I think the blog community is such a wonderful community.

All of the yummy stuff above is from Malieta! HOLY! I was shocked to receive all the goodies because it was absolutely a Random Act of Kindness! Awww, Malieta, I cannot tell you how kind your act is. . .it really made me happy, not only because I received such fun stuff but because, well it was just such a nice thing for you to do. I'm really touched.

Can you all do me a favor. . .please visit Malieta's blog site "Life's Simple Pleasure". She hasn't been feeling well because she has the flu . . .can you wish her well and that she gets better soon. I think she'll be happy to hear from all of you. Again, thank you Malieta! You are the absolute sweetest.

This wonderful card and goody box is from Janaina of "2 Worlds"! Wow, just another kind gesture from a wonderful blog friend. Isn't her card GORGEOUS! You can't really see it in the picture but the "thanks so much" is heat embossed. It's really pretty. Janaina also wrapped the nuggets with pretty paper. Thank you Janaina! I really appreciate your kindness! You're a darling!

Last but not least, this wonderful RAK is from Miss Jen of "Pieces of Me"! I love how she wrapped the lollipop with the pretty card design. It's AWESOME. I really need to get with the program and be more creative. I'm always amazed by all the creative things that people come up with with. Jen also sent me a few FABULOUS images which I love! I love images that I can color. Thank you Jen, as always you are a total sweetheart!

Close To My Heart - For Every Occasion

Hi Everyone! Just a card I made today! I stamped the image using Close to My Heart "Thoughts of You" stamp set. This is a really pretty stamp set. It's a two-stemp stampin' type of stamp set so it's really fast and easy to color in the images. The sentiment is from the "For Every Occasion" stamps set.

The color combo for this card is Close to My Heart "Petal" "Pansy Purple" and "Sweet Leaf". The shadow color is "Amethyst". I'm still trying to familiarize myself with Close to My Heart colors. Don't worry, I'll get good at it one day. LOL!

Oh, before I forget. . .Close to My Heart now has their catalog online so go check it out on my right sidebar. The full catalog is visible meaning all their products plus scrapbooking and card ideas are now available for viewing! Whoohoo! Go check it out!

This is going to be a short post. . .until later, folks!

Stampin Get Together

Hi Everybody! Wednesday night I got together with a few stampin' friends at my previous Stampin Up upline's house. Stampin' Up? Aren't you with Close to My Heart? Yeah. . .LOL!

Look. . .I love any stamp, the brand don't matter to me. I promote the art but at the same time, when I feel there's a brand that I feel has fabulous products, I want to share it with you. If I could do both companies, heck I would. I credit this beautiful card layout and design to Joanne. Isn't it pretty!

It's funny because since switching to CTMH as a consultant, I received email from Stampin Up fans telling me that they no longer like any of my ideas because I'm no longer with Stampin Up. I was like "you gotta be kidding me?". I had one email saying that my blog site is now "offensive"! Okay, my answer to that is "get a life"! It's like I had bad mouthed a religion or something!

I told my husband about it and he laughed and said "is stamping a cult?". I'm like "no!", and he's like, well sounds like it! LOL! Anyway. . .we had a good laugh over it. Seriously. . .I feel stamping and cardmaking is an art and I wish people could concentrate on the artistic value of this wonderful hobby. I just can't stomach the competitive nature of the business. . .we should all have fun whether you're with Stampin Up, Close to My Heart, TAC, designer for this and that company. None of that should matter. Sharing our love for the HOBBY is what it should be about, not whether you prefer this brand or that brand or if you sell this brand or that brand.

Another thing is when someone wants to do well as a consultant or demonstrator, the cattiness and ugliness of the competitive nature of people oozes out and the first thing they want to do is squash the competition and I mean within the same company. They try their darn hardest to make sure you don't succeed because you'll somehow take their customers away or something. Please. . .there's a lot of love to go around.

Don't hurt others ability to succeed because in the end it's not good for the business.

It's reminiscent of when I first became an RN. I heard nurses telling the newbies that "the nurses on the units eat their youngs". LOL! And, they weren't kidding. The old timers ate and gobbled up their younglings. . .it's no wonder hospitals can't retain their nurses! It's the ones with the tough skin or need the job badly who survived but then the cycle starts all over. You know. . .the abused becomes the abuser~

Anyway, I had a lot fun getting together making cards with my Stampin Up friends! We made that pretty card above! It was fun just creating and chit-chatting and stampin'!!

Hope y'all have a wonderful day!!

Cool RAKs!! Check Them Out!!

Hey Everyone!! Look at the wonderful stuff I received today! Happy Mail!

This AWESOME, CUTE, and FABULOUS card is from Rita at "Rita's Little Corner"!! I mean it's CUTE! The chickee is the sweetest looking bird! Rita is such a sweetheart for sending me this card and the awesome Bella images. It really lifted my spirits and made my day! I was feeling a bit gloomy yesterday and to receive such an awesome card really made such a difference. Thank you Rita. . .you are the sweetest, just like that cute chickee!! I TOTALLY appreciate it!!

I received this SUPA COOL card from Gabby of "Confessions of a Stamper". When I opened the envelope, I was expecting a lovely card but when I pulled out the card, I laughed so hard. . .not because it's a funny card but because OMG! It was Jared staring at me! Gabby knows how cool I think Jared Leto of "30 Seconds to Mars' is and how much I love this band! This is the coolest card EVER!! I absolutely love it. . .not only because it has Jared's picture but because the design of the card is FABULOUS!! It's sooooo Rock n' Roll.

I showed the card to my husband and he laughed and said that we're weird! LOL! He's just jealous because no one ever sent him such a cool card.

Thanks Gabby! You absolutely knew what would make me smile! Ingenious card. . .and very personal. You're the best!

A Non-Valentines Card! Yay!!

Hi Everyone! Just a card I made this evening! I had colored the image a while ago but it was one of those that I felt didn't come out too well and it sort of went into my "junk" pile. I decided it didn't look too bad so I decided to use it. My "junk" pile is a pile of images that I've colored but I feel need a little fixin' up. They're images that I smudged, overcolored or just don't look right. I rarely ever throw anything away. I usually keep them and try to fit them later when I have the time.

Anyway. . .I colored the image using markers with markers on watercolor paper. I then did a bit of color wash to color the background a bit. You can't see it but I went over parts of the image with a glitter pen to give it a little bit of sparkle.

I'm very disappointed. . .the stamping business can be a "dog eat dog" world. It's a little sad. I'm not going to get into it but sometimes this business have mean spirited people. Very disappointing. . .anyway, you know who you are.

Hope y'all have a wonderful hump day everyone!! Until later. . .

Valentines Card

Hi Everybody! I made this card last night. Just another Valentines card but I think it can be for any occasion.

Can you believe it but I just got over my bronchitis and a few days ago I started to have really bad stomach symptoms. I started to experience stomach ache, nausea/vomiting, etc. and I believe they're due to eating BAD chicken from Wings & Things. The morning after I ate the chicken, I started to feel really sick. My kids also had symptoms but their symptoms weren't as bad as mine. I haven't been able to eat for 2 days without feeling sick. Today, I finally was able to keep my breakfast down.

It's a little depressing. I was just starting to feel good after 2 weeks of being sick. Sorry for whining but I haven't been able to sit down and craft like I normally do. I have a few obligations and I feel like I'm behind again.

Anyway. . .this card was basically created with straight stamping. I did cut the heart image out and mounted them using foam tape. I used a lace ribbon because I thought it goes well with the heart design. It gives it a very feminine appearance, don't you think?

I used SU Always Stamp Set and inked it with Baroque Burgundy. I stamped the background on the Baroque Burgundy panel, with Vanilla Craft Ink. Other accessories used: lace ribbon (unknown), SU Key Tag punch.

Blogger is not allowing me to "spell check" so if you see typos and misspellings are due to my not being able to spell check my posts. . .:)

Candy Bar Holder - Door Hanger

Hi Everybody!! Happy Friday to y'all!! I made these candy holder using a door hanger with a pouch. I traced the door hanger on to a designer paper.

I stamped the flower using Close to My Heart Rustic Flowers set and the sentiment from "Love is" using Close to My Heart Watermelon, Blush, and SU Sage Shadow. I used K&Co Designer Paper and CTMH Big Brads Spring Collection.

I then cut the image and using the curve of the scissors, curled the flower.

I need your opinion. . .which do you think look better. . .the flower in the center or to the side like the sample below?

This one has the flower to the side. I'm not sure which I like better. . .the flower in the center or to the side. I have to make 4 of these for my daughter's teachers.

I wrapped the candy bar with regular printer paper and stamping the images on to the paper. Cardstock is too stiff to use as a wrapper.

This is a close up of the flower. I love cutting my flowers and curling them.

RAK from Joan

Hello gang! Look at what I received today!! Surprise, surprise! I love surprises! I received this card from Joan. . .she's from way in the Netherlands! Isn't it a fabulous card!

It was so sweet of Joan to send me a card. I love the sunflower and the paper that she used. She did a fabulous job coloring the image!!

Joan's card reminds me that I need to send out my RAKs for the month. Don't be surprised if you receive a card from me. . .:) I randomly go through my addresses that I have and send them out.

Be sure to drop by Joan's blog site "Scrapmum" and check out her fabulous creations!! Thank you Joan for making my day! You're fabulous!!

Valentines Baggies

Hi Everybody! These are a bunch of goody boxes I made for my daughter to give out to her friends. It's funny because I was going to use a bunch of pretty designer paper and make these goody boxes all fancy and such then I thought about it. . .I don't think teenagers really care about how the boxes will look or whether they were made with pretty papers so I decided to just do the "basics". Anyway, I think they care more about what is inside the box. . .LOL! Am I bad or what?

Anyway, the heart images were created using Close to My Heart "Love Is" stamp set. All I did was stamp the images all over the box, attached a red cardstock to the flap, and tied a ribbon and topped it off with a tag!

I'm a bit behind on my crafting. . .it's been really busy here. I've been busy creating projects and tutorials for my "Stamp and Scrapbooking club" and post on my club blogsite: Heartfelt Inspirations. It's a private blog for club members. If you're interested in the club, feel free to email me at lbmcd66@hotmail.com and I'll send you the details!!

Hopefully, tomorrow will be less busy! Until later folks!!

Just Another Valentines Card. . .

Good Afternoon, folks! I decided to post another card I made. If I was smart, I would save it for tomorrow. . .LOL!

Well, this card is interesting because it's a mix of CTMH and SU stamp images. The sentiment is a CTMH image from the "All My Love" stamp set and the calender looking image and the flower are images from the SU Office Accoutrement. I bought the Office Accoutrement a long time ago and only used the flower image. I really never knew what to do with the other images. I was thinking of selling it but decided to work with it. It actually came out okay.

This is actually a Valentines card. . .on the calender image, I marked Feb 14, 2008. I really like the color combo. I used the same color combo on my previous card. I know it's not a traditional color combo for Valentines but I think it's a great combo for a male recepient. What do you think?

All My Love

Good Morning Everyone! Is today the Superbowl? LOL! I haven't watched football for ages. Here's a card I created early this morning. I love staying up on Saturdays so I decided to use my time to create a card.

I'm a "equal opportunity" stamper and I use any brand. It really doesn't matter to me. A pretty stamp is a pretty stamp no matter who makes it. That's how I see things. Well, I think this stamp set called "All My Love " is a fabulous "love" or "Valentines" set. It's a really versatile set.

The DP is a designer paper is from the Scrapbooking kit called "Serendipity" which was a promotion in January. Unfortunately, the promotion is over and done with. It was such a great promotion but I joined in late in the month so I couldn't really tell you about it. I received it with my consultant kit.

Don't forget to drop by my website located on my side bar. You can check out what CTMH has to offer.

Lovely RAK I Received. . .

Hi Everyone! This very lovely card and gift are a RAK I received from Carol Lee. I was her RAK receipient for Jen's "Pieces of Me" monthly RAK club that she host each month. I have a different partner . . .it's sort of a secret until the receipient receives the RAK.
Caro's card is so elegant and so pretty. I love how she tore the edge. . .gosh, I haven't done this technique for such a long time. It's such a beautiful way to accent or enhance a card.
Carol Lee also sent me a Making Memories metal embellishment pack and a Jolee's Boutique stickers. I love Making Memories and Jolee's Boutique stickers. . .how did you know Carol Lee? You must be psychic! LOL!
Thank you so much Carol for being a sweethear for sending me a piece of art and such lovely scrapbooking items. I love all of them!!

Cards Made with Scrap Materials

I made these cards using just scraps and I mean just scraps. I have a huge ziplock back of stamped and colored images that I, for one reason or another, did not want to use.

Sometimes I'll pull out the images and fix or update them. I'm not sure why I never used this image because I think it looks fine. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I first made them over 2 to 3 years ago. Yup, you heard right. . .2 to 3 years ago. I save EVERYTHING.

Anyway. . .these cards are for a swap I participated in a while ago but the due date isn't until March. The swap is called "Project Scraps" that Gabby at "Confessions of a Stamper" is hosting. The swap is now closed but she is hosting the swap on SCS. I think she has other swaps in progress on SCS. The swap is to use only scrap items meaning cut up papers and embellishments that are piling up in a box somewhere in your craft room. . .and boy, I have a lot othem.

This card was created with a bunch of random images that were similar in color so I sort of slapped them all together. I think it came out okay.

I don't have any sketches for these cards because I just wanted to post them really quickly.

I believe I stamped and colored these images over 2 years ago. I used to experiment a lot when I first started stamping and when I didn't like how my experiment turned out, I would put them in a bag in hopes of salvaging them one day. Well this was the day. LOL! They really didn't need any salvaging. . .I guess I just didn't like how they looked at the time I stamped the images.

I made 3 more cards for the swap that I posted on Card Inspired because I didn't post anything on that site for 3 days. I'm on catch up mode. . .life is just so busy, I can't keep up.

Hopefully, I'll have time work on cards again tomorrow.
Until later, folks. . .
