Crafty Busy Day. . .Stuff I Worked on Yesterday

Hello Friends! Happy Sunday!!! I was a busy gal yesterday! I worked on a few embellishments and earrings! I had a blast just creating away! I love it when it feels natural to just create rather than feeling pressured to create something. I like creating when it feels fun.

I have a lot of craft stuff to talk about so I'll just get down to business. I created two sets of bow embellishments for paper crafting! One in blue and one in pink. I like creating them in advance so I can just pull them out when I need them rather than creating them at the moment I'm working on a project.

I have pre-colored images, pre-made bows, pre-made flowers, pre-made beaded pins. . ..ready to be used so when I create a card or project, finishing them off goes by pretty quick. It works out really well when you need to whip up a card last minute. . .like design team stuff! LOL!

I pre-dyed the seam bindings. I don't like to dye them too dark because then they start to look like regular ribbons which I already have a ton of. I want them to look like dyed seam bindings not ribbons. I have a ton of miscellaneous beads so I worked on a bunch of beaded pins and stuck them on to the bow then added the various flowers with embellishments.

These are actually Yo-Yo flowers but rather than adding a button to the center, I added the seam binding bows just so they look a little different. They're fun embellishments to design head bands and hair accessories or even to add to sewn items such as bags, pillows, and even clothing.

I worked on a few earrings too. This one is a simple one. .. I used heart agate beads and decorative bead caps for this pair of earrings! I'm in love with bead caps right now. . .they make beads look so pretty.

This one. . .I wrapped a wire around the foil glass bead and added the lucite flower and bead just to make it a little artsy looking. It sort of has a funky look. I wrapped the silver wire sort of freestyle without any real design concept in mind. To soften the look a little, I added the pink opal beads with the bead caps.

Anyway, I listed all of these items in my Etsy Shop: Inspired & Unscripted. I think I'm going to work on "finished" projects for my shop. I've been primarily working on embellishments but a little change is good. I'll continue to make crochet flowers, fabric flowers, and other embellishments but I'll add finished projects as well just to give my shop mix of different things.

Elegant Dangling Earrings, Crochet Flowers & Yo Yo Flowers

Hi Friends! Happy Friday! Just a quick post today on a few projects I worked on the last few days! I listed all of these items in my Etsy shop: Inspired & Unscripted. The first project is a pair of dangling earrings that I worked on. I decided to create sort of an "icy" design to the earring with a bit of a vintage and shabby chic style.

I love the filigree bead caps! They're so pretty! The earrings are made up of pearls, silver findings, filigree bead caps, blue glass beads, and frosty lucite flowers. I think this is something you can wear to dinner and would look perfect with a white or silver dress.

I worked on a few mixed colors of this daisy loom knit flowers. It's double layered and I used worsted acrylic yarn rather than crochet thread this time around. They can be used for headbands, hair accessories, brooches, or even cards, scrapbook and altered projects because they are fairly flat. They're not bulky so they can be used as card and scrapbook embellishments.

I used a loom knitting daisy flower tool to create the flowers and honestly, it takes more time to make these flowers than regular crochet flowers but I really liked the look of the petals so I decided to work on them anyway.

Here's a set of yo-yo flower that I had hand sewn. I made a few different ones in different colors. I plan make more of them. I like coming up with different types using different buttons! It's really fun!

Dangling Earrings and Yo Yo Flowers

Hi Friends! A post! Wow! I haven't been blogging much, it seems but I have been crafting. I don't like posting projects that appear too similar to a previous post. I mean who wants to see a similar project but just in a different color or variation? I don't know, I just don't think you do. Well, I did create a pair of vintage inspired earrings and a few yo-yo fabric flowers yesterday. A little different. . .I've never created yo-yo flowers so this project was fun to make.

I really love vintage style jewelry! Although the beads and findings aren't vintage, they do have a touch of vintage flare to them with the antique brass flowers and pearls. The earrings are pretty dainty. ..measuring only 2.5" in length, I like how feminine they look. It's an understated accessory. When I wear necklaces, I don't like wearing bold or large earrings because it just feels like it's too much. I've seen women who wear large bold earrings with an ornate necklace and I don't know, I just think it starts to look a bit loud. . .sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone . . .it's just my taste. . .I don't like looking overly stated and overly accessorized.

I worked on a few yo-yo fabric flowers. I had to hand sew them. . .I tried to make them using the sewing machine and nope, it didn't work out too well. . . so hand sew it is. I have a ton of fabrics and haven't been quite in the mood to sew bags or aprons. I've been really lazy lately when it comes to sewing. I need to allot some time to work on sewing projects. . .it's not something you can do on the fly.

Here is another set that I created. I like mixing the crochet flowers with the yo-yo flowers. I think I'm going to work on more of them!

Anyway. . .I've been having terrible allergy attacks lately and today, I haven't sneezed yet so I better work on a few things before I start sneezing again. I can't craft when I'm having allergy attacks. . .it just makes me so miserable but right now, I'm okay. Yay!

Dainty Heart and Flower Earrings

Hi Friends! I made another pair of earrings!! Yay! I haven't created any jewelry for over a month and in the past few days I've been on the roll! It's really fun to see the end result of your hard work. It's very satisfying.



Anyway. . .a little info on this pair of earrings that I created. The heart bead is made of agate and the flowers are made of lucite. It took quite of time to put all the beads and flowers together but it's sort of therapeutic. It has a very dainty romantic look to it! I'm going to work on more earring and maybe the next one won't be pink! Hehe. . .I'm so into pink right now.

There are a total of 9 round beads and 4 lucite flowers and the one agate heart bead on each earring. I was having a bit of a problem putting together the finding and the beads together because of the size so I had to buy a magnifying glass lamp. Wow, it sure made a difference. The magnifying glass lamp made it so easy to see what I am doing!!!

I'm planning to make another set. Hopefully, I have enough of the same beads to create another one.

More Shabby Chic Inspired Earrings

Hi Friends! I worked on a few more earrings. I love dainty earrings. . .soft and romantic. There's something very feminine about them. . .they're understated but still stand out. Creating for me is very random. One day, I'll love bold colors, the next day, pink, white, vanilla. Right now I'm in the soft color phase.

I won't go into the mechanics of the earrings. The components of the earrings are quite simple. I did use resin rose beads and a polished marble heart bead to create this pair of earrings. I used an antique bronze hook and findings to give it a more vintage appearance.

With this one, I used antique silver butterfly beads, vintage pearls and lucite flower bead. I'm waiting for a few bead caps that I purchased. Hopefully, they'll arrive soon so I can use them on the earrings. Bead caps give earrings a pretty vintage shabby chic look.

Dangling Crochet Flowers Agate Heart Shabby Chic Earrings

Hello Friends! I decided to work on earrings today. Because it's summer, I thought crochet earrings has a summer vibe so off I went and worked on it. I have a few rolls of thicker crochet threads that are stiffer so they work nicely as a jewelry component. They don't hang flimsy when wearing them.

To create the earrings I added a lucite flower beads to the center of the crochet flower and added a vintage pearl bead to the center. I added the an pink agate heart and the pearl beads to complete the earring. I think the earrings have a shabby chic, artsy look to them. . .kinda bohemian-ish.

I have difficulties taking photos of shiny things. . .in person the agate hearts are a bit more shiny looking. I'll work on earrings this week. . .I haven't created any jewelry items for a while now and it's fun to do something different!

Etsy Store Listings - Beaded Ribbon Lace & Metal Book Marks

Hello Friends! I finally listed a few items in my Etsy Store: Inspired & Unscripted! My seller ID is "CardInspired" Yay! I decided to take a leap and try it out and see how it goes. Hopefully, I'll be able to sell a few items. Stop by and check out what I've listed so far.

Currently I only have book marks listed. I'm planning to start listing other items such as paper craft projects, cards, other jewelry projects, shabby chic handmade supplies, crochet projects and finally, sewing projects.

Honestly, it takes quite a bit of work to list items . . .hopefully, I'll get a hang of it soon. LOL!

I made a few of these Shepard's Crook Metal Beaded Charm Book Marks and I have them listed as well as the ribbon and lace book marks I created. The prices are based on the cost of the materials and will run between $4.00 to probably $15 depending on the type of beads I use. Beads are quite pricey especially the bigger stones and beads. Right now, the ones I have listed are between $5.50 to $7.50.

The Shepard's Crook Metal Book Mark base is 6" long not including the jewelry component. It's made of antique pewter and have decorative engraving. The one pictured in this post is $7.50, primarily because of the beads that I used.

The charm is silver metal antique heart shape with a heart scroll engraving. I love pretty book marks especially ones that will last long. I don't like using the paper/card stock tag type because they easily wear out quickly. In my case, I tend to lose them as well. . .obviously, the metal and ribbon beaded ones are harder to misplace and besides, they are much prettier. Don't you think?

I've been having a blast creating book marks of all types. This time I used a cute gingham ribbon with a butterfly charm. I'm in the process of creating various types of book marks. I'm an avid reader . . .I take the time to read a book at least once a day. . . normally before I go to bed. Do you like to read? I love to read thrillers, literary novels, mystery and suspense, historical types of books, classic novels and once in a while romantic/love stories but not "romance" books.

Anyway, because I love to read, it inspired me to create book marks and I'm hoping to sell them in my Etsy store sometime soon. I haven't really sold anything on Etsy but I think I've created enough things to stock my store. I'll probably work on posting a few items starting next week. I hope you'll stop by and visit and check out what I have for sale.

Okay. . this is the cute gingham ribbon I used for my book mark. It's connected to antique bronze metal clasp so that I can add my jewelry components to the ribbon. I prefer this type of book mark rather than a paper/card book mark. They are prettier and they don't wear out like card book marks.

Polymer Clay Beaded Plumeria Book Mark

Hi Friends! It's me again! Wow 2 post in one day. . .that's incredible for me! LOL! Yeah. . .you're not going to believe this but I'm actually ahead with my crafting. Rather than being lazy and setting aside my projects and not posting them, I decided to be a little more diligent and work on being a better blogger.

Honestly, I make more projects than I actually post on my blog but they're sort of the same things so I feel I'll bore you if I post similar projects. For example. . .yesterday, I posted a similar beaded book mark. It's a different design but again, a book mark. I always feel like I need to post something different all the time but heck, I made the stuff, why not share it anyway.

I'm thinking of selling these bookmarks on Etsy. . .what do you think? I feel a little intimidated selling anything on Etsy. Everyone is so creative on Etsy and I sort of feel that my stuff aren't creative enough. I always think "heck, who is going to buy my stuff". . .but I should at least try and see if anyone will buy the stuff I make. Besides, I have to be honest, I need play money. My husband is supportive but through the years, less so because I do buy a lot of craft stuff and sadly, I want to buy more! I've cut back on impulse purchases but from time to time, I badly want something and I decide not to buy it because I'm worried my husband will give me "that look".

Anyway. . .just a little info on my book mark. I created the plumeria flower polymer clay charm a while back. I intended to create a necklace with it but decided that it's best used for something else such as a bookmark. I really loved the rose trimming so I decided to use it. I really love how feminine it looks.

I haven't sewn anything for almost a week. I needed a change of pace but I think I'm going to work on sewing something today. Something crafty rather than a bag. . .or maybe work on an apron. I bought a few apron patterns a few weeks ago and haven't tried any of them yet.

Happy Easter and Cross Charm Beaded Book Mark

Happy Glorious Easter Friends! Hope you're all celebrating this Blessed day with loved ones. I created this beaded book mark a few days ago but decided to save it for today because I thought it was an appropriate project to post to celebrate this glorious day. This will be a quick post. I've created these book markers in the past so I won't really discuss the details.


I have a few cross charms and I wanted to create a book mark that could be used for a Bible. I used a decorative ribbon and attached the beads and charm to it.

I cut the ribbon long enough so that it could fit a regular trade size book or a larger sized Bible.

I really loved the heart bead so I attached it to the end of the book mark. I thought the book in the photo was an appropriate book for this book mark. Have you read "Evensong" by Gail Godwin. It's a story of a woman's path to spiritual identity. I just started reading the book last night so I've only read a few pages so I can't tell you much about the book but if you want to read the reviews and synopsis of the book: Click Here

Polymer Clay Beaded Lace Book Marker Charm

Happy Friday, Friends! Well I decided to create another beaded book marker. This time a little longer so that it fits a hard cover or a trade size book. The one I created yesterday was made for a paperback book size. Scroll down for yesterday's post for the other book marker I created.

Hey. . the last of the Twilight movies "Breaking Dawn" is coming out soon. I think I need to re-read the book. I read the book a while ago so I can't quite remember what happened. Well the book marker will definitely be put to good use. . . :)

I actually created the polymer clay flower charm and beads a few months back but never used them for any jewelry projects so I decided to use them for my book marker. It worked out great. Similar to yesterday's book marker, I cut a strip of lace, sewn the ends and attached a ribbon clasp. The ribbon clasp allows attachment for the jewelry components to the lace.


As you can see here, the lace isn't bulky so it allows the pages of the book to lay nicely flat. I think I'm going to make several of these book markers. They're quick and simple to make and they're really pretty! I love them!
