Pink Cat Studio Digi Release

Hello Friends! Hey it's almost Halloween. . .well sort of. . .you have about a month and a half to work on your projects so it's a great time to grab your Halloween digi images at Pink Cat Studio. It's a Halloween digi stamp release today! Yay!

I decided to create a few gift sets . . .they'll be useful for Halloween treats this year. I wonder if the little kiddies will appreciate my hard work! LOL! I highly doubt they understand the time I put into creating them but that's okay. . .maybe they can give it to their moms. . .:)

I created the box using one of the myscrapchick.com "Bigger Bag" files then cut 3 oval shapes and layered them so they look like a pumpkin. It's pretty simple to create the pumpkin shape. To give it texture be sure to run the oval shapes through your Cuttlebug embossing folders.

The bag was created by an SVG file and cut it on my Cricut machine but I don't recall where I got it from so I can't share it. It's not my file and I don't know who sells it. It may have been a free file. I can't remember. I just knew I had the file in my computer. But. . .not to worry. . .you can create the "Box in a Bag" following a tutorial on SCS: Click Here
I didn't have time to create a matching treat bag for this card but look at cute little Blobby! He is adorable isn't he? For your information. . .all the papers I used on my card are by DCWV and I colored the images with my Copic Markers. Anyway be sure to stop by the Pink Cat Studio Blog and check out all the awesome projects the design team created. . .and I mean AWESOME!

Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

I just returned from a mini trip to San Diego. I had a fun 4 days hanging out there. I live an hour away from downtown San Diego but we really haven't spent much time there since moving to California from Hawaii 5 years ago. We decided to check out a few of the attractions that we haven't visited for a while such as Balboa Park where all the museums are located and hang around the Gas Lamp section of downtown. We also visited Sea World. . .unfortunately, the day we were there one of the Orca whales died. That was very sad. We didn't know until we saw it on the news but while we were there, they had asked the visitors to leave a certain section of the park. We didn't understand what was going on but later realized what happened. Apparently, the whale was acting a little sluggish the day prior and he just suddenly died.

Anyway. . .let me give you a bit of detail about my card. I heat embossed the images on to black card stock using Stampin Up Real Red embossing powder. That's basically the main feature of my card. I used Real Red, Speckled Black, and Kraft card stock. I used my Nestabilities die to create the shape and the stamp sets I used are Stampin Up "Eastern Bloom, Flight of the Butterfly, and the sentiment from the Essence of Love stamp set.

Well. . .I think that's it for today. I'm hoping to be more crafty this weekend. . .hopefully, I can work on a few more projects and be able to post them this week. I'm praying my crafting mojo will hang around. . .:)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge #63 - Brads or Eyelets Challenge

Hello Friends! It's Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge time again! Well, in about 3 months it'll be the holidays! Wow, I can't believe how time has flown and it is flying quickly! I have a nice stack of Christmas cards ready when the holidays roll around and there's 3 months left to create more of them! How nice. Why don't you join us in our challenges and start creating your Christmas cards.

This week's challenge is to create a card with 3 or more brads or eyelets. In Style Stamps is sponsoring us this week and if you play along, you'll have a chance to win 4 In Style Stamps digital images. Whoohoo!

This week I decided to use "Toby" which will be released at In Style Stamps soon. I decided to print the image lined in a row. I didn't color the image. . .just printed it on red card stock. My goal for this card was to create an "elegant" card so I tried to keep the card simple.

I used my Martha Steward border punch and inserted eyelets to the holes. It worked out perfectly. . . the holes were just the right size for small and medium size eyelets. The designer paper is by SU and the card stock in "SU Real Red". That's about it!

Okay . . .be sure to stop by the Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge site and check out the awesome cards created by the design team!

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C53 - Book Challenge

Hello Friends! Hey it's Crazy 4 Challenges time again and ooh, this week's challenge is just my speed! Joycelyn came up with a fun challenge because well. . .it's one of my many favorite hobbies. . . .reading. Your challenge is to create anything 'Book Related'! So that can be a bookmark, a stamp image with books, or even a card inspired by a favorite book! Have fun with this challenge and get lost in the world of books!

Some of you may have read on Vicki Garrett's blog last week that she has decided to do less design team work so she can concentrate on doing classes. We are very sad to see her leave us, as Vicki was one of the co-founders of Crazy 4 Challenges.

I would also like to introduce you to our newest member to join the Crazies .... Tammy Hershberger. Please help us give Tammy a big welcome!

Check out the awesome cards the design team created:

I actually wanted to create a card with a favorite book in mind but well, I couldn't decide which book. . I have too many. LOL! So. . .I decided to use the Greeting Farm image that has a book image on it. It worked out perfectly for this challenge.

I colored my image with my Copic Markers. ..what's new, huh? LOL! Nothing much else to my card but basically layering card stock and designer paper, adding ribbons and embellishments. Yadah, yadah, yadah. I think I need to start doing something different. I wish I was more motivated to step outside my cozy box but right now my crafting mojo is in half speed, basically 1st gear. . .well, the easiest way to create a card is best right now. It's a bit sad because there was a time when I would wake up first thing in the morning and try to come up with something new. I even went to bed thinking of what I'll create the next morning. I miss those days. Sorry about the whining. . .I'll get back to my old self soon. . .:)

The good news is that I've transferred that enthusiasm towards crocheting and ultimately, sewing when I can find the time to actually sew something. My husband bought me a sewing machine for my birthday and well. . . I have not created a single stitch on it. Having too many hobbies can be a problem sometimes but I'm not complaining. I'm glad I have a lot of hobbies. . .it keeps my mind preoccupied. Crazy things happen when I'm bored so thank God for all my hobbies. . .ask my husband, he knows. . .LOL!

Okay before I end this crazy long post. . .I want to list some of the books I've read in the past month or so. I read a lot. . .sometimes I can finish a book in a day or two. . .

Here are books I recommend:

OMG! The Undead (Queen Betsy) series books by MaryJanice Davidson are HILARIOUS! If you like LOL type of books well, this series will make you chuckle. Just don't read it in public because you may just laugh out loud and people will think you're strange. There are 9 books in this series. . .I'm on the 4th book right now. It's a funny take on vampires. . .it's a major girly girl type of story . . .many of you will be able to relate to the main character. . .:)

This book is about an old 90+ year old man reminiscing about his young days working at a circus. It's a heart warming book with a happy ending. This book is actually being adapted into a movie starring Rob Pattison (Twilight) and Reese Witherspoon. I do recommend this book. . it's very well written.

OMG! I loved, loved this book. This book is under the gothic suspense genre but it's not really a ghost story. It is twisted though. . .very twisted. LOL! It's beautifully written and considering it's a first book by Diane Setterfield, well. . .she did a wonderful job. If you like reading literary novels, you'll love how this book was written.

This book is one of the best books I've read this year. If you saw the movie and have not read the book, well. . . you are missing out on the emotional and riveting aspects of the story that the movie was not able to capture. The story is vividly descriptive, emotional, and quite tragic and I highly recommend this book even if you've already seen the movie. . .actually. . .read it especially if you saw the movie. You'll understand the main character, Amir, a lot better. . .:)

I'm currently reading this book. Unlike the typical Stephen King books, this one is a bit more "fantastical". I'm only on chapter 5 but from reviews I've read, many mentioned that the book is a "fantasy" story. It's about a boy who is able to visit a parallel world and his goal is to save his mother who is dying of cancer. I can't really talk about the book because I haven't finished it but so far, so good.

Anyway. . .sorry for the long post. . .the C4C challenge this week got me started. . .LOL!

Be sure to stop by C4C and play along in the challenge! Before I go, any book recommendations you'd like to add to the one I listed above? I'd love to see what books you recommend. I may look into them. . .:)

Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Labor Day weekend!

Happy Birthday Sankari and myscrapchick.com Gift Set

Hello Friends! I wanted to wish Sankari of Sankari's Sunshine Corner a happy and wonderful birthday. Be sure to stop by her blog and wish her a happy birthday. I created this set just for her birthday! Yay!! Sankari is such a sweet person. . .with a kind heart. She deserves all the happiness a person could have. Happy Birthday Sankari.

Do you see the colors? Well, it was specifically chosen for Sankari because from past experience working with her on Christmas Stampin All Year Long. . .she was a past designer there and well, I noticed that her cards were always bright and happy and very colorful. She also likes to use "Liquid Pearls" and add dots and blings to her cards so the dots on my gift set were created with her in mind!

Just to let you know. . .the birthday bear (Balloon Girl) on my card and gift box/bag is a digital image/stamp by myscrapchick.com! Isn't she such an adorable image? Stop by myscrapchick.com and check out all the cute digital images! If you prefer to paper piece images using a cutting machine, you can also purchase the same image as a cutting file such as an SVG file and cut it on your Cricut machine or other machine. The image comes in a huge cutting file set called "Birthday Bears" . . .actually, the "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from that set.

The box/bag is another of myscrapchick.com fun product. It's from the "Bigger Bags" file set and I cut the box using my Cricut Expression.

I colored the image using my Copic Markers. . .the dots are actually by "Scribbles Iridescent Paint". . ..it's similar to Liquid Pearls.

Anyway. . .again, Happy Birthday Sankari! I hope you had a wonderful birthday.

As for all of you. . .I hope you all have a blessed and awesome Labor Day weekend!

Christmas Stampin All Year Long Gift Set Challenge - Tag Holder and myscrapchick.com

Hello Friends! Well, it's Friday and that means it's challenge time again at Christmas Stampin All Year Long! Yay! This week is a gift set challenge and the gift set this week is a "Tag Holder". Come play along with us this week. Try out the tutorial . . it's really easy to create. Stop by CSAYL for the tutorial and to check out the awesome gift holders the design team created.

I decided to use myscrapchick.com digital images! These images are a sneak peek of the "Bella and Baxter Elves". OMG! I am so excited to show you the rest of the Bella and Baxter images! They are so darn cute! Stop by myscrapchick.com to check out the other images available. I'll be creating samples for them soon!! All the images are adorable and so fun to color. They all make for fabulous images for cards and other projects. Myscrapchick.com also offer cutting files in different formats so be sure to stop by and check out the awesome cutting files if you like to cut with your cutting machine such as your Cricut, etc. Right now there is a 60% off sale for purchases over $5! Okay! That's an awesome deal!

Just to let you know. . .the images were colored using two different coloring mediums. The left Bella and Baxter in the middle were colored using Copic Markers and the Bella on the right was colored with Prisma Colored Pencils. Not too much difference in the results, huh? I like using both mediums but I found coloring with Copics once you get the hang of it are faster to color with.

As you can see the "Tag Holder" opens up to show 3 pockets that holds 3 tags! So fun!!! Another way you can use these tag holders is to treat them as "mini scrap albums" by adding photos to the tags and journaling on the pockets.

Anyway. . .be sure to stop by myscrapchick.com and Christmas Stampin All Year Long!

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

It was a lot of fun creating this card. There's a lot of things going on with this card for sure! Just to let you know. . .the striped paper is by DCWV and the orange designer paper is by Stampin Up. I colored my image with my Copic Markers and the web and jack-o-lantern are by
Dress-it-Up. You can find the "Dress it Up" buttons in the sewing section at Joanns or craft store. The "Boo" wire work is by "Card Connection".

Anyway. . .I'm going to make this short. I'm pre-scheduling this post and I'm going to read a book before I go to bed. I'm currently reading "the Talisman" by Stephen King and Peter Straub. It's interesting so far. I just finished reading the "Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. . .wow, it was a very powerful and riveting book. I highly recommend the book!

Okay. . .hope y'all have a wonderful Thursday!
