Scrappy Sunday Challenge

Hi Friends! I finally decided to take a photo of my layout that I created a few days ago. I was so not in the mood to blog or craft the last few days because of the major allergies I've been experiencing. Do you have allergies? Gosh, when it's bad. . .it's bad. It's really hard to focus with the constant sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, etc.

Although I have allergies practically daily. . .there's times when it's non-stop and that is what have been going on for the past 3 days. There's times when I'll sneeze 10x consecutively then I start to have breathing problems. When it's bad, I end up with a sinus/migraine type of headache with photosensitivy and movement of my eyes causes my head to hurt. I also end up with an upset stomach, difficulty breathing, etc.

The funny thing is as quickly as it comes, the quickly it just sort of disappears. I'm still trying to figure out what triggers my allergies. At one point I was thinking I was allergic to rubber because sometimes, when I stamp, I'll start to have a runny nose and start sneezing. When I have my allergies. . .I don't want to do anything but lay still. LOL! For some reason I think if I don't move, my sneezing will stop. LOL! I don't like to take allergy medications because it brings on a whole set of different problems. I usually end up with a sinus infection or cold when I take allergy medications because they stop the flow of mucus from my lungs and sinus cavity. Mucus is important in ridding your body of bacteria and such .so I still don't like to stop the flow of it out of my body.

Anyway. . .enough of my woes! I decided to play in last week's "Scrappy Sunday" challenge on Paper Craft Planet. My layout isn't the greatest but I'm trying. I really liked the sketch so I decided to try it out. You can check out the sketch: Click Here

This layout are of my dogs, Dakota and Phoenix when they were about 10 weeks old. Awww, they are so cute.

The sheepish looking dog is Dakota. . .the mischevious one. I'm assuming he looks sheepish in the photo because he did something he shouldn't be doing. He always has a guilty look and he KNOWS when he did something wrong. Many times he won't look you in the eye when he did something naughty. Phoenix the white one. . .is very laid back. He never does anything naughty. Both are adorable in their own way.

Anyway. . .I feel a little better today. . .no sneezing this morning but my eyes are still burning. I can deal with that. I'm just happy my sneezing stopped. Well, I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday!!

Sorry For Being MIA

Sorry I've been MIA. . .I haven't stepped into my craft room for 3 days. Gosh, I've been suffering major allergies the past few days and it's been impeding on my ability to craft or concentrate. It's driving me bananas. I'm hoping it'll be better today so I can get back to my normal routine. Hope you all are doing well and hope y'all have a fantastic Sunday!!

New Release of the Pink Cat Studio Fairy Friends

Hey Friends! Yup, it's the big day! It's the release of the Pink Cat Studio Fairy Friends stamp set. I see you jumping up and down with joy! Yay! Okay. . .go run and get this cute set of fairy friends! Such fun images, don't you think?

I'm sorry I have no card or project posted right now. I actually created a card and a scrapbook layout but haven't had time to take photos of them. My time is limited this morning because I have to do some errands, drop my daughter off at the school, hang out on the campus for a few hours until she finishes her class, visit a pet hotel and check out their facilities, then more errands. . .it's going to be a busy day. I'll post them when I get home which will be later in the day.

Thank you for all your wonderful birthday wishes. I really appreciate it. I had a great day yesterday. We ate dinner at a restaurant at the casino & resort near our home, played a little slot machine. . .which by the way, I lost all my money. Whaaaaaaaa! That's okay I didn't lose too much. . .just enough to have a little fun. I was just hoping because it was my birthday, for some reason, I would get lucky. Forget it. . .it'll never happen so I think that'll be the last time I play on the slot machines for a very long time.

Guess what my husband got me for my birthday? I don't mean to brag but remember a few weeks ago I mentioned that I REALLY wanted the Canon 10-20mm wide angle lens and was going on a craft spending freeze and sell some of my older stamps to come up with the money to buy the lens. Okay folks, the lens cost more than the actual camera body so it would have meant that I would have had to scrape up a whole lot of dough to get the lens. Well, my husband gave it to me for my birthday. Whoohoo! My old stamps are saved from being sold and my craft spending freeze have been lifted. I cannot tell you how happy I am!! He really knew I wanted it and would hear me constantly "oooohinng and ahhhhing" all the beautiful landscape photos of others using this awesome lens. I guess he wanted to stop hearing it. LOL! I'll take a few photos today and show you how cool the pictures turn out!

Anyway. . .sorry about all my blabbing!! I hope you all have a beautiful Thursday. I'll post something later. . .maybe this evening!!

Hello Friends!!! Today is an exciting day! Why? Well it's one more day before the August release of Pink Cat Studio's "Fairy Friends"! Yay! I decided for day 2 of the sneak peeks to create two standard cards! These stamps are very versatile. . .the images are perfect for a gift box. . .especially, for some one's birthday or if you just want to wish something nice for someone.

I used the little froggy fairy for this card. Isn't he a cutie or what? I've been having a lot of fun making cards with these stamps!

Here is a close up of the image. I added a bit of Crystal Effects to the frog's eyes. Be sure to scroll down to check out my second card!

Pink Cat Studio Sneak Peek Day #1 - Fairy Friends

Hey there Friends!! Guess what today is? It's Pink Cat Studio's Day 1 sneak peak of the "Fairy Friends" which will be released on August 6th! Whoohoo! OMG. . .these stamps are the cutest and so versatile, I tell ya'! I had so much fun creating my samples!

I had pre-scheduled this post to post earlier but I put the wrong time! Ugggh! That's okay. . .I caught my error early enough!

My card was inspired by the card that Joy of "A Place to Be Me" sent me. I know there's a tutorial on SCS for this project called "Tri-Shutter Card" and it's slightly different from my card. I just measured the dimensions from Joy's card and it was super easy to make.

The image I chose to use was the "bunny fairy". I decided to add a little book marker to the card. I love reading books so I thought the recepient could use a book marker too!!

I colored the little bunny with my Copic Markers but I forgot to add the highlights to her face. I usually add the dots after I'm done with all my coloring but I forgot to add it.

Anyway. . .if you want to check out the SCS version of this card, you can find the tutorial HERE. Try it out. . .after you create the first one. . .it'll be a piece of cake from then on!

Card Details:

Stamps: Pink Cat Studio "Fairy Friends"
Paper: DCWV designer paper, SU Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Metal tags, Round Corner Punch, Organdy Ribbon, CTMH Just Blooms, Deja View flower brad, Making Memories flower brad, SU Key Tag punch, Grosgrain ribbon, Fiskar Scallop Scissors

My second card is another interactive sort of card. . .it's a slider card called "Surprise Pop-up Card" that I saw on SCS. I actually tried this tutorial out a year ago. . .it was all the rage at that time. I really loved this project because it's such a fun card to make. You can find the tutorial on SCS . . .HERE. Again, try it out. . .it's really simple. . it may look complicated at first but it's really not.

This time I decided to use my "kitty fairy". When you slide the tag up from the pocket, it pulls the front panel up to reveal a hidden message. You can pull the tag all the way up and write a message on it too!

Hey. . .my goal is to work on the tutorials on SCS. . .there's a masterlist that you can choose over 200 different tutorials. How fun is that? Go check it out and try out the tutorials . . .there's a lot of good ones to play with. Click Here for the SCS Masterlist of tutorials

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Day 2 of Pink Cat Studio's sneak peeks. Stop by the other designers blog site and check out all the beautiful creations that they created!! They all have such fabulous ideas!

Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge #28

Hi Friends! It's that time again. . .you know what Monday is all about right? Well, if you don't . . .it's Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge! Yup! And. . this week's it's Debbie of the Paper Garden turn to host our challenge! Yipee! Debbie's challenge is a sketch challenge! There are 2 additional requirements to the sketch. . .one is to emboss the top half of the card and use designer paper to the bottom half as shown on my card.

Honestly, this card almost didn't happen. I procrastinated and the plan was to make this card after dinner. Well, after dinner last night I was so sleepy that I thought. . .oh, I'll just make it tomorrow. Then I remembered that it's my daughter's school day again and well, I won't be home in the morning. Uggh!

My life schedule is sort of messed up because of my having to bring my daughter to school. Many of the things I normally do in the morning now have to be done later in the afternoon or evening. It's been throwing my schedule off a bit. I usually will comment blogs and such or blog but now, I have to plan ahead or wait until I get home. It's all good. . .I'll get accustomed to it soon enough.

Nothing much to my card. I colored my image with Copic Markers and added snowflake embellishments to the bows. That's basically it.

Anyway. . .be sure to stop by the Christmas Stampin All Year Long blog site and check out all the cute cards created by the design team.

Hope you'll stop by and play along this week!

Have a great day, everyone!!

Card Details:

Stamps: Rachel Ann Miller, Stampin Up
Paper: SU designer paper, SU cardstock.
Ink: Copic Markers

Altered Box and Scrapbook Layout

Hi Friends! Hey. . .where have you been Maria? Yeah, I haven't post anything new for the past two days. Honestly, I haven't blurfed, commented, or blogged. Why? Because I was just sooooo lazy. I just wanted to do other things. . .nothing exciting or anything but just whatever. Do you feel that way sometimes? I did craft last night and made this scrapbook layout and the altered box below.

As you all know. . .I'm not a scrapbooker. I do try but it's not my forte. I'm not entirely happy with my layout but it's better than not making one. I'm always stumped when I work on my layouts. I don't know what I'm expecting from myself. I'll continue to try and one day maybe I'll get good at it. LOL!

I altered a Starbucks box. It was lying around in my closet for a year now. I actually had a bunch of them but a few months ago I threw them away because I never got around to altering them. The inside of the box is also lined but I didn't take a picture of it.

Anyway. . .nothing much else to this projectt.

I gotta run. . .my husband is waiting for me to drop him off at the auto shop.

Hope y'all have a wonderful Sunday!!
