The Greeting Farm Oh Baby and Sing

Hi Friends! Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday. You know. . I've gained 30 to 35 lbs in the last 5 years and have been trying to lose them for the last 5 years. LOL! I've struggled with it. I would make great efforts to lose weight and I'll lose 10lbs but the effort is so time consuming . . mentally and physically that I stop trying. I sort of burn out trying to lose weight.

I wonder if I should just embrace and accept my chubbiness. I cringe when I go clothes shopping. I don't look good in any clothes I want to buy. I hate that aspect of it. At the same time, I don't want to put in the difficult effort to try to lose weight. I'll try for a short time but give up. I don't know how to change this self-defeating revolving circle of failed efforts to lose weight.

I LOVE food. . .I mean REALLY love it. I think if I wasn't so sedentary, I wouldn't have much of a problem because there was a point in my life when I was still skinny that I could eat two servings of everything and never gained weight. I could pig out and I wouldn't gain weight because I was so busy running around that I would burn the extra calories without trying.

Should I try again? I did lose 10 lbs a few months ago by eating less and walking on the treadmill daily but I caught a cold and hurt my back and well, mentally. . .that was a good excuse to stop trying. It seems I wait around for that "excuse" to come up so I can stop. I can't just stop because I feel embarrassed that I stopped for no reason so when an excuse arises, well I embrace it like a long lost friend. Well, sadly I gained back 5 lbs in a short period of time.

Okay. . .I'll give it one more try. If I fail this time around. . .I think I'll just accept it and be happy with my chubbiness and move on with life. There's no point in fighting it if I fail this time around. When should I start?

I'll start tomorrow! LOL! I need a day to prepare myself for the upcoming deprivation and sore muscles that will surely come. Wish me luck friends! Stop by "Sistahs of the Traveling Tee" and support the other ladies there who are trying to lose weight. Me and Jen of Pieces of Me started this blog a year ago to motivate us to lose weight and well, we're still trying. There's a few other ladies that joined in our journey so stop by and check out how we're doing once in a while!!

Okay. . now to my card! I created this "Clean and Simple" card last night. I tend to make my cards so busy and it's sometimes so difficult to make a simple and clean looking card. I controlled myself last night! LOL!

Well, I decided to use the Greeting Farm "Oh, Baby" stamp set to create this card. I never created a card with this layout before. . .it's different from my norm.

I colored Baby Ian with my Copic markers. .that's basically it. Nothing really much else to the card.

Card Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Oh Baby
Paper: DCWV designer paper, SU Certainly Celery, Cool Caribbean
Ink: Copic Markers, Sakura gel pen
Accessories: Organdy Ribbon, JoAnn brads, Nestabilities, CB Embossing Folder, Paper Cord

Okay. . .now, this card is more like my typical card. . .busy and such! LOL! Actually, I intended to make a "scrappy card" but decided to add the Greeting Farm "Sing". It was a last minute decision to add the stamped image.

I'm not sure I like the ribbon the way it is placed but I can't think of another part of the card to add it. This card has a half flap with a rounded edge. I adhered all the punched flowers to give the card a bit of dimension.

I colored "Sing" with my Copic Markers. . .that's about it!Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Card Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Sing
Paper: K&Co designer paper, SU Riding Hood Red
Ink: Copic markers, Sakura gel pen, Scribbles Iridescent paint
Accessories: Marvy Daisy punch, SU Riding Hood Ribbon

Heavens, Maria! These two cards are adorable! I especially like the second card that is really "YOU" with the colorful, vibrant colors that yell out "FUN" but they are both very nice. I love that "Sing" gal with the uke? It just makes you smile and feel "happy" like you want to "sing along" with her. Great coloring as always. Enjoy your weekend, what's left. Hugs, Cami

Maria, both of your cards are gorgeous. Your coloring really makes them both so striking. I love the colors and the different designs. I think it is so cute that you included the embossed paper in your baby card. It really gives it that "extra". In your second card I love all of the flowers. Weight is something that I have always struggled with. I have never really been "fat" but I since my first child was born I have been on this roller coaster ride of gain 10-15 lbs, lose 10-15lbs. My biggest downfall is chocolate and for some reason it helps my mojo while I am crafting. So totally in my head. The key really for me is to exercise. When I exercise I can slim up but I really don't feel like doing that with my extra time during the day. I would rather scrap. :) Well I hope you find your peace about your weight but mild exercise is good for you no matter your weight all through out your life so if you can fit it in by all means start. Just don't push yourself so hard in the beginning. Take it easy. Maybe then you won't have the sore muscles. Sorry to have written you a book!!

xoxo, Christine

LOL you sound like me when it comes to weight loss and motivation. I really do WANT to try...give it a go for a bit but then I look for excuses to stop :(

I wish you the best of luck! You can do it...if you put your mind to it :)
