Spring Time Tilda

Good Morning Friends!! Yesterday after I picked up my daughter from school, we decided to do a "girls hangout day" together so we went and got our hair done. We both cut and had our hair highlighted. I told the lady I wanted a few chunky "brown" highlights in two different colors to make it look natural. I even provided a photo of the color. . . well, when I was at the salon, because of the lighting, it looked okay. When I got home, my husband said "why do you have blonde hair". . . I'm like "it's not blonde, it's brown". He's like "did you look in the mirror?". Well, I stepped into the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and lo' and behold, some of the highlights were "blonde"! Argggghhh! Okay, I'm Asian. . .Asians don't have blonde highlights.

I was a bit bummed. . .I paid good money, I have the urge to head to the store, buy hair dye and reduce the overly lightened parts of my hair but at the same time, I feel like I would be wasting the money I paid. I mean it don't look bad. . . on a white person! LOL!! It's not so bad, luckily it's just "highlights" and it is mixed with dark and light brown colors but I do look like a surfer chick. . .you know with blonde streaks!

Has this ever happen to you? I rarely have my hair done because I've had a few disasters and I get really upset knowing I wasted my money. My daughter's highlights and hair cut turned out beautiful. It looks really natural!!

Anyway, about my card. . .I colored Tilda with my Copic Markers. I added that flourish thing sorta last minute. I'm not sure I like it but that's okay, I'll leave it. . .it's something different.

Do you see Tilda's face. . .well it's popped up a bit because I messed up on her original face. LOL! I didn't want to waste the rest of the image so I just went ahead and stamped the image again, color her face, and remounted it over the original image.

What are your plans today? I still need to finish my laundry. . .it's been 3 days since I started, do some chores, and maybe I'll take a few photos around town.

Well, whatever you do. . .hope it'll be fun!!

DD's New Hairdo

This is a photo of my daughter's new hairdo. Nothing drastic. She had her hair layered a bit and highlighted with brown streaks. I think it turned out really nice. For my daughter, doing her hair is a big deal because she's a "wash and wear" sort of person. She's seriously low maintenance. She doesn't do her hair or use make up. I sort of talked her into getting her hair done. Luckily, they didn't do anything drastic to her hair or she would have been mad at me. She's happy with the results and I am too.

Your daughter is very pretty Maria, love her hair it still looks natural. Sorry to hear yours didn't come out as you wanted. I can't count the number of times I've been disapointed with what a hairdresser has done to my hair. I tend not to go to often now. :0)
Great Tilda card , lovely colouring as always. xx

Oh Maria, your daughter looks fantastic with her new do & she's so beautiful she doesn't need make up! I'm sure yours looks great too, you just need to get used to it. You probably look fantastic! Change is good, someimes we need to shake it up a bit, what does your daughter think of your new look?

I luv the colors of this card, great job, it's so cute!

I am sorry about your hair. So frustrating. I had my hair break off in perm rollers once when I was younger as the lady left it on too long. Oh the joys, huh?
Love your card! The flourish is so neat! And Tilda is just precious!
I'm doing laundry today too...the mountain of clothes was starting to take over our room! LOL!

Oh, Maria... I am so sorry about your hair... I never had a luck here with my hair too. So I dye them all by myself using Henna. Last time I went to hair salon was a year ago and they didn't do what I wanted. I heard that lots of people have the same problem.
Glad that your daughter didn't have anything like this! She is so beautiful!
Oh, your card is so cute! I would never say that the was a mistake there!

Very cute card! I love the flourish on it and the way you made good use of Tilda by not dumping the whole thing away! =)
I'm sure your hair looks great! Maybe it's one of those things that you need to get used to?? But your DD hair looks great, and she looks happy!!
=)

Maria the card is gorgeous, yeah I had some accidents in salon too, very difficult to find people that know to cut my hair here, everybody here has such good hair, lol
But now I cut in Brazilian salon

Your daughter's hair is beautiful !

Oh Maria I love your daughter's hair! It is too too cute and looks great on her! i am so sorry to hear about yours. that is really frustrating! I used to have this spunky italian hair dresser that you learned not to go to on days she was mad at her husband. If you weren't careful you would have hair that was cut about 3 inches shorter than you wanted! LOL!

Now onto your stunning card! I love the beautiful papers and the way you have her sitting in the heart! Ingenius! Your coloring is amazing and that filigree is to die for!

Smiles,
janna

Very cute! I love how it looks like she's sitting on the edge of a window ledge. The heart shape is fabulous! Your Daughter is very cute and her hair looks great. I love the subtle hint of the highlight.
