SCS Wednesday Sketch Challenge - SC172

Good Morning, everyone!! I decided to participate in the SCS challenge today! I haven't been able to participate the past few days because I didn't have the time but I put great effort today to finish up a card for the challenge.

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge SC172

I really liked the sketch. It was a simple sketch and I did my best to stick to the sketch. I sometimes see cards in the challenges that deviate somewhat away from the sketch.

Anyway, here is my gallery if any is interested in checking it out. I basically post some of the cards I post on this blog site. I don't post too often on SCS. Lately I've been posting mainly cards created for the challenges. Prior to that, I post my cards every few months when I have the time.

Anyway, check out the challenge. The sketch is great.

Card Details:

Stamps: SU Great Grads, Brocade Basics
Paper: SU Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, ATD designer paper
Ink: SU Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, Sakura Metallic gel pen
Accessories: Organdy ribbon, Fiskar scallop scissors, SU scallop punch, CTMH Bigger Brads, 1 3/8 Circle Punch

Close to My Heart Mother's Day Card

Hi Everyone! Hope y'all are having a lovely day! I had created this card for a challenge for my club blog site and I wanted to share it it with y'all. I also posted it on SCS but I don't believe I posted it here on Stampin Inspirations.

Anyway, this card was created using Close to My Heart "March Stamp of the Month - Simple Beauty" which is a great Mother's Day stamp set. If you're interested in CTMH products, I do have a CTMH website located on my right side bar. Stop by and check it out.

I had watercolored the images using markers on watercolor paper and added Stickles to give it a glittery look to it. I cut out the images then mounted it with foam tape.

The background was created using the "Polished Stone" technique to give it a marbled appearance. Nothing much else to this card. The rhinestones are from Darice which can be found at JoAnns. The rhinestones are very low cost so I buy them when they are on sale.

Hopefully, I'll be able to participate in the SCS challenge tomorrow. I was too busy to participate on Monday and today.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day!!

Working on Scrappy Cards on Card Inspired

Hi Everyone! Is everyone having a lovely day? I haven't made any stamped cards on this blog site because I've been working on "scrappy cards" on my other blog site "Card Inspired". I have a ton of scraps that I really need to reduce so I've been working on the scrappy cards using designer papers and left over stickers, chipboards, primas, embellishments etc. that I had used for other card and projects in the past. I'm trying my darn hardest not to open any new packs of embellishments or cut up any new designer paper until I can at least get some of my scrap pile down a bit. It'll impossible to reduce it in the manner I would love to but I will try!!

Stop by "Card Inspired" and check out the cards I've been making on that blog site!

Cute Birdie Card

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to you all! Just a card I made using the CC design stamps. You can find this stamp at Jen's Pieces of Me online store: Little C's.

My goal for this card was to use materials from my scrap pile. The only materials that are not from my scrap pile are the daisy brads and the organdy ribbon.

On my other blog site "Card Inspired", I've been creating cards using a lot of my scraps. It's sort of fun to see what I can make using scraps.

Ribbon tip:

Do you have ribbons that are to short to create a bow? Well you can fold the ribbons and tape it on the back. This is a great way to rid of those itty-bitty ribbons.

Anyway, today is my husband's birthday so I won't be blurfin, blogging, or crafting today. I'm planning to make a "gourmet" style breakfast and later in the afternoon, we're going to BBQ in our backyard and hangout in front of the fireplace and just hang out!

Card Details:

Stamp: CC Designs, SU Riveting
Paper: SU Night of Navy, Serindpity Speckled Beige, Designer paper (unknown)Ink: Copic markers, SU Night of Navy, Sakura Souffle Pen
Accessories: SU Scallop Punch, 1", 1 1/4" and 1 3/8 circle punches. Fiskar scallop Scissors, ribbons (unknown), Diasy Punch, Making Memories daisy brads, organdy ribbon, Making Memories ribbon.

Simple Goody Bag Tutorial

Good Evening, Friends! Awww, I didn't have the time to work on today's SCS challenge. I had a few things I had to take care of and I just didn't have the time. I did not craft anything all day. Bummers.

I just wanted to share this "Simple Goody Bag" that I created for Easter. I didn't post it sooner because I was waiting for Scor-pal to put it in their April/May magazine. The tutorial is now on their blog site.

If you've never checked out Scor-pals web site. . .boy, you are missing out on some great projects and tutorials. There's a ton of awesome projects with tutorials so be sure to check it out.

I really love my Scor-pal. I use it for all my scoring needs. It sits right on top of my desk and currently, I believe they are coming up with a platform to place on top of the Scor-pal when you are not using it so you can work directly on top of it. You don't need to put it away or set it aside. Regardless, I still work on top of it because it's flat so you can actually keep it on your desk. Anyway, if you want to. . .click on the link above to check out the tutorial for this goody bag and be sure to check out all the awesome projects on the site.

SCS Wednesday Sketch Challenge - SC171

Whoohoo! I am on top of things today! The first project I tackled today was to create a card for today's SCS Sketch Challenge - SC171

Honestly, when I saw the sketch, I was like "what the heck am I going to create with this sketch?" KWIM. It's so out of my norm. . .but interestingly, I love it. It's different and I was able to create a card that I liked.

Hey, if you are going to participate in today's challenge, comment me with a link to your card on SCS and I'll go check it out and comment your card! We gotta support one another! Here is mine: Click Here. LOL!!

I watercolored my image using markers, aquapainter on watercolor paper, cut up the image, and layered it with foam tape. The dots were created using the Sakura Souffle pen in yellow. The rest of the card is basically layering and adding the embellishments and cutting the scallops with the Fiskar Scallop Scissors.

I was going to create another card but unfortunately, I have other obligations today so I can't until I'm done with my obligations. I gotta focus on my priorities today. Because I'm completely on my own while my kids are in school for this week. . .my husband comes home from his business trip on Friday. . .I'm just doing my own thing and playing along with these challenges. Unfortunately, I've put off a few things that are more important. Arrrgggh! Why, Maria? Why can't you stick to the program? I guess I'm just taking advantage of my free time.

My husband works from his home office. . .meaning he doesn't go anywhere, KWIM. Although, he's too busy to notice that I'm in my craft room, he does come out of his office to make coffee, eat lunch, or take breaks and well, that's when I get busted. . .LOL! He is SUPA supportive but I do feel bad that he is working while I'm playing and he does notice that the dishes are piling up or he wants me to run a few errands, like going to the post office, call so and so, or clean up the house. Because he's not home right now. . .well, you can pretty much figure out what's going on. . .LOL!! It's all play and no work! So, I guess I have to work on a few things. . .

Here's a few details on my card:

Stamp: CTMH Fair Blossoms
Paper: Deja View designer paper, CTMH Cranberry and Sunflower
Ink: CTMH Markers, Sakura Souffle
Accessories: CTMH Bigger brads, Grosgrain and organdy ribbon, Coluzzle Cutting System, Fiskar Scallop Scissors

SCS Color Combo Challenge - CC161 Glorious Navy

Good Morning, Friends. Wow, I have to pat myself on the back. . .I actually completed yesterday's and today's SCS challenges. Yay! The only reason I was able to do it is because my kids returned to school and my husband is gone on a business trip. I am running on my "own" time! LOL! I can do what I want to do. . .no one to dictate my time. Just kidding. It is easier to get my crafting done when I can concentrate on it.

Today's challenge is the color combo challenge - CC161 Glorious Navy The color combo is SU Real Red, Glorious Green, and Night of Navy. The first thing I thought was to create a Christmas card because the combo is more like Christmas colors but I wasn't in the mood to create a Christmas card.

My card also qualifies for yesterday's challenge - TL163 - "Stacked Ribbons"

In the end it actually worked out using the SU Mixed Bouquet set. I stamped the background then filled in the "white" areas with a sponge dauber. The main flowers were watercolored, cut out, mounted with foam tape, and I added a little bit of glitter. The sentiment is from the SU "Friendly Flowers" stamp set.

The layout is from a card that I created last night below. I wasn't in the mood to think up of another design so I cased my own card! LOL!

Here is my own card that I had used to case the challenge card. Everything is the same except for the color combo. The color combo for this card is SU Pumpkin Pie, Cranberry Crisp, and Black.

Anyway. . .if interested in this challenge, be sure to drop by SCS and check it out! If I have the time, maybe I'll add another card. We'll see.

Have a great day, Everyone!!!

SCS Monday Technique Challenge - TLC163

Happy Monday, Everyone!! Lookie. . .I actually participated in an SCS challenge!! Amazing! My goal was to do an SCS challenge daily but well, that never happened so my goal now is twice a week. I think that's more reasonable.

I participated in today's technique challenge - TLC163 Stacked Ribbons I hate to say this but I decided to participate in this challege because it was an easy one. Nonetheless, it's a FUN one!

Okay, this card is screaming "loud"!! I know. . .it's just way colorful but the designer paper has been sitting in my drawer for a long time and I decided, why not use it. It's a fun design and so fitting for a baby girl.

Card Details:

Stamps: SU Baby Firsts, Inkadinkado Baby
Paper: DCWV Glitter stack, SU Green Galore, Regal Rose
Ink: Copic Markers, Sakura Souffle pen
Accessories: SU Scallop punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, Basic Basic Ribbon, Paper Thread, Grosgrain Ribbon
