Glass Cup Frame - Re-invented and Refurbished

Hey Friends! Earlier this evening I asked my husband to bring down a few glass cups that were stored way at the top of our cupboard. They were glass cups we haven't used for years but were just sitting there so I decided I could re-invent them by creating photo frames with them. I actually would have preferred using a vase that was taller and had a pretty shape but I didn't have any that weren't already used for something else so the next best thing were the cups.

With the first glass cup I decided to use it as a candle holder photo frame. I actually wanted to use a larger candle but unfortunately, the candle I had was too large to fit in the glass so I found a smaller one. I initially tried to use the river rocks shown in the picture below to fill around the candle but again, they were too large. I didn't want to go to the store and buy smaller ones so I looked around and found whatever I had in the house.

Instead of the river rocks, I used potpourri and large white beads to decorate around the candle and decorated the outside with gold beads. I think it worked out perfectly.

All I did was add the photo first. The photo clings to the inside of the glass nicely. I then added the candle and filled the glass with potpourri and beads.

Because I wanted to give this glass photo frame to my husband to put in his office, I kept it super simple. All I did was add the photo and put some river rocks inside. That's it. It has a masculine sorta Zen look to it. Perfect for a man! Nothing foo-foo about it!

My husband thought it was a little strange. . .I guess he couldn't see beyond the glass cup. I don't know. . what do you think? The photo is protected by the glass so it works like a photo frame. Anyway, I like it. I think I'm going to make more with different types of glass and decorative fillers.

I'm still feeling blah with my cold. I want to craft but my head is so stuffed up. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.

Hope you all have a wonderful President's Day weekend!!
