The Greeting Farm - Ms. Megan

Hi Friends!! How are you all doing? I hope you are all well! Well, summer is coming to a close and I feel I have not accomplished any of the goals I have set for myself as far as crafting. That's okay, there's always next summer! LOL!

I recently bought this cute TGF stamp called "Ms. Megan". Isn't she sassy or what? Look at her hand on her hip. . .sassy! LOL! Well I colored Ms. Megan with my Copic Markers but I sort of messed up on her hair. . .I mean not badly but initially, I colored her hair blond. I then realized that I don't have a designer paper that had a red, black, yellow color combo. Besides, I didn't like the colors together. I already planned to use the designer paper shown on this card so I had to darken her hair to brown. Unfortunately, I had to color over the highlights on her hair. Nothing major but I really didn't want to recolor her hair.

That's about it to the card. The designer paper is by CTMH. . .. actually, they were scrap pieces I had.

Hey. . .did you hear of the new Stampin Up policy? It's the big news in the crafting/stamping world right now. Apparently SU are restricting demonstrators who are bloggers from linking or mentioning on their blog any company that conflicts with SU . . . .basically, all stamping or crafting companies out there. For example, if you color with Copic markers. . .you can't mention that you colored the image with Copic Markers because SU sells their own markers. . .you get my drift?

On top of that, if you have a blog friends that promotes other stamp/craft products that competes with SU, you can't link their sites on your blog. You can't link SCS, PCP, or any other forum that advertise other companies either. Basically, that eliminates 95% of the links on my blog! LOL!!!

Another thing is that demonstrators no longer can be part of any design team that sells products that competes with SU. Oh my goodness. . .I think my SU demonstrator days are over. It doesn't matter. . .I've been a hobbyist for quite a long time already so leaving SU has no real impact on me.

Although I love Stampin Up. . .I'm a crafter and not just a Stampin Up'er. . .KWIM? I see stamping, card making, scrapbooking, etc. . .as an art, not a product. So. . .with that being said, this will be my last month as a SU demonstrator. Oh, well! No big deal!

Anyway. . .I need to get back to my crafting. I have a few DT projects I need to work on. . . .

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Love the rich and sumptuous colors of this one Maria.
As for SU..!! WHAT!!!
they are being SO greedy!
Thanks for the info. I reckon they'll REALLY suffer with these policies and serve 'em right!
Happy Wednesday!

Wow, Maria, another fantastic card. I love her brown hair and the way you colored her face is so lovely. I like how you placed the shadows. Love your design of the card as well. Perfectly done every time.

I am in the same boat as you concerning SU! This will be my last month as well and I will have been a demonstrator for 5 years this October. Up until this past January I was actually making some money with my business and of course putting it all back into more SU! products. Then the economy started it's down hill roll and people started to scale back on what they were purchasing. I am now actually seeing an upswing again. I don't think that they realize what an impact this is gong to make on them. I feel that they are basically trying to get rid of the hobbyists/small business demos.

Oh, well, I've got enough up my sleeve to worry about it.

Have a great day!
xoxo, Christine

As far as SU,it's their loss,I'm sure they'll lose so much business over this!

Love Miss Sassy and the colors have just the right punch. Great for the transition from summer to fall.
Another blog friend told me about the new SU policy. It's totally ridiculous, and I'm glad that you will be staying true to your crafty self and not relinquishing your creative freedom. YGG!

So sad to hear all you lovely ladies who HAD to make a decision on what to do with SU. they make it very uneasy on people and like I read on Lacey's blog...SU compliments other companies products and shouldn't be viewed as competition...any whoo...you do what you gotta do...I support you whatever you choose...bottom line is: just be HAPPY! so on to the card...love the colors you chose. what red copic pen did you use? I love to use red, it's just so hard to figure out the right one...yours looks so pretty and deep! keep up the creations as I love to see what you came up with!

Maria, I love this card but then I love all your creations!!!!

I am a UK demo and I cannot believe this news about SU!!!! If they bring this to the UK I will defo leave to, I help advertise my fab local craft shop and am on a DT that promotes Promarkers and will not stop either!!!! I thing SU will lose a lot of demos and a lot of business!!!!!

Oh well it will probably save me some money anyway as I am sure I only buy half of it to meet my minimums...LOL, not that I ever seem to struggle.

Anyway off to craft.

Hugs

Sarah
