Handmade Crochet Flowers and Shabby Chic Valentine's Card

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! I actually worked on this card a few days ago but I had other projects to post first so I now how a free day to post the card. I love the color combination of vanilla, teal and pink. I think it's such a pretty color combination.


I had stamped the Close to My Heart images then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. You can't really see it in the photo but the hearts have a shiny sheen to them in person.

Going with the shabby chic design, I added a pretty velvet Prima flower, lace, vintage button, paper doily and beaded pin. That's about it. I'm planning to work on other projects soon including Mother's Day and Easter projects. The holidays creep by so quickly. . .it's amazing that Valentine's day is fast approaching already!

I do want to share a few items that I had recently listed on Etsy. I finally found time to create more crochet flowers in various colors. I've listed a few Stampin Up colored crochet flowers in Regal Rose and Marigold Morning. I'll be listing more colors as I find time to crochet more flowers. I'll probably list the Stampin Up colors Certainly Celery, Bliss Blue, Cameo Coral, Elegant Eggplant, Brilliant Blue, and Baja Breeze some time later today. The color of the crochet flowers above is in "Marigold Morning".

This one is a set of 10 in "Regal Rose". I love this color!

I also listed turquoise colored crochet flowers. The flowers measure 1 1/2 x 1 1/2". I do crochet the flowers my self. I don't buy them from China and resell them pre-made. . .LOL! I spend hours crocheting them using crochet thread. I usually find time to crochet while I'm watching television with my family because they do they a bit of time to make but I love making them! Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C100 Monochromatic Card

Hello Friends! Today is challenge time again! Crazy 4 Challenges time! This week Frances came up with a fun challenge. The challenge is to create a card with a monochromatic coloring. Well I took it to a step up and created a monochromatic card. Actually, I misunderstood the challenge. . LOL! I thought the challenge was to have the whole card be monochromatic when it's only the image that needs to be monochromatic.

I decided to use a beautiful image by Flourishes. I thought the Flourishes Year in Flowers 2 rose image was perfect for this challenge. I stamped the image using my Stampin Up Rose Red ink on to a speckled cream card stock and mounted it on to a scallop circle then added the satin ribbon to the top of the image.

Do you see the rose printed strip to the background? It's actually fabric! You can't really see the texture of the fabric in the photo but in person you can tell it's fabric rather than paper. To embellish the card, I added lace and stuck dew drops to the lace.

I also used my crochet flowers . . .I'm selling them on Etsy. Right now I only have the smaller flower listed. . .not the bigger one. I'm still working on crocheting bigger flowers. Hopefully, I'll have them listed soon. I stuck 2 beaded pins to the crochet flower and also added a small rosette to the crochet flower.

As you can see, the image is monochromatic! I love the simplicity of it! It makes the image look really elegant!

Pin Cushion, Crochet Flowers, and Beaded Stick Pins

Hi Friends! Happy Friday! I've been busy trying to come up with different projects to list on Etsy. On Etsy, sellers recommend opening separate shops for target items but honestly, it's hard work managing even a single shop. I would have to fill my shop with items to sell and well, I don't know if I have enough time to fill up two or even 3 shops. Unfortunately, my shop is beginning to look like a hodge podge of different handmade items because I do like to paper craft, sew, crochet and make jewelry so I have all types of handmade items in my shop right now. That's okay, the more variety the better, right?

I've been selling on Etsy for 3 months now and I'm trying to create different items because unless you already have a niche in the market, selling handmade cards is difficult. As much as I love making cards and love buying them my self, Etsy is pretty saturated with card sellers. There are a few sellers that are doing really well but they've been selling on Etsy for years. Because I'm new, well. . .I need more exposure which can be difficult when there are literally 200,000 handmade cards listed on Etsy. Two hundred thousand!!! That's mind blowing!

Anyway, about my pin cushion! I'll be making more of them. I really enjoy making them. Because I love Christmas so much, I decided to make a Christmas pin cushion!!! The pin cushion measures 5" round and 2.75" from the bottom to the top of the flower topper. It's made with cotton fabric and felt. I added pearl beads and a sewn flower with a pearl bead to the center.

Because I make the flowers to sell, I decided to use it on my pin cushion.

Other items I currently listed on Etsy are these beaded stick pins which I use often on my shabby chic cards. They're made with jewelry beads primarily glass and pearl beads as well as silver toned Tibetan spacer beads and bead caps. They measure 3" or 2.5" from the top of the pin's bead to the end of the pin. If you want to take a look at them: Click Here I have a few sets listed right now.


Although I currently have a bunch of 1.5 x 1.5" crochet flowers already listed, I decided to create larger crochet flowers measuring 2 .5" round with more petals and dual colors. The ones in this picture have 6 petals and measure 2.5". I haven't created enough to list them in my shop. I'll work on them and list them soon. These crochet flowers are the 3" round flowers. They have 7 petals instead of 6. I'll make more of them and list them on Etsy in the near future! Because they lay flat and aren't bulky, they're great for cards or altered and scrapbook projects.

Anyway. . .I think I'm going to make a few more pin cushions and work on a few handmade cards this weekend!

Crochet Hats I'm Currently Working On

Hello Friends! I'm sorry I haven't posted anything since Saturday! Well. . first of all, I've been experiencing terrible allergies this whole week. . and I mean terrible!!! Non-stop sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes. . .I could not function! It finally let up and I was able to work on a few projects.

Currently, I'm working on crochet hats. . similar to the hats in the photos! The hats my daughter is using are just samples that I had created a while back. I decided to take photos of them with my daughter wearing the hats rather than on a mannequin.


All the crochet hats are the same in the photos, using different yarn colors. I'm planning to sell crochet hats on Etsy starting towards the end of the month. I've been debating whether to use a live model to show my hats or a mannequin. I think live model shows how the hat looks on a real person but on the mannequin it shows better details so I think I'll use both a live model and mannequin.


I really love slouchy crochet hats because it fits nicely on most heads and it's very hip and trendy! It also looks nice on both young and older people. I like wearing them myself. They make my large head look smaller! LOL!

I'll let you all know when I start listing them in my Etsy shop. I'm hoping at the end of August or the beginning of September!!

Anyway, I actually have projects I want to share but I'll post them tomorrow.

New Facebook Page and Give Away

Hi Friends!! I finally took a leap and decided to start up a Facebook page for my craft creations and as a support for my Etsy shop! I was debating whether to start one up but I think it just makes sense. I've had a profile on Facebook and many times I share a lot of crafty updates but not all my friends on my regular Facebook profile care about anything crafty so I had to restrain myself from posting too many updates relating to crafting. Now I can be free to be crafty wild on my page and discuss crafting and my friends there want to hear about it! Yay!

On my page I'll be sharing new creations that I worked on, tutorials, and also my Etsy listings. I'll try to make it fun for both crafters and non-crafters since there is a mix of people liking my page.

Anyway. . .I just opened up the page last night and I'm giving a prize away when I reach my 150 likes. Felt, Fabric, Crochet Flowers and Revamped Card

Hi Friends! Happy Sunday! I worked on these layered, felt, fabric, crochet flowers this morning. I initially were going to create them with just felt but decided to add the fabric and crochet flowers instead. I thought it looked more interesting with the other textures. To the center I added the rhinestone. I listed this set of flowers in my Etsy shop: Inspired & Unscripted. I think I'm going to make a few extras for myself and create maybe a few cards and tags with them.

Here is a close up of the flower. I'll create more in different colors and fabric. I'm having fun creating different types of flowers and embellishments. It's like an art in itself despite being just an embellishment.

This is a revamped card. I made this a while back but I decided it needed revamping.

This is actually a jewelry pendant/charm but added it to the card instead. It's fun mixing jewelry components on paper crafting projects.


To revamp the card I added the layered crochet and satin rosette to the ribbon. It originally was just a plain bow but I thought the bow needed some sprucing up.

Are you all enjoying your summer? It's been a mellow one for me this year. My daughter decided to take two summer school sessions this summer . . .I wanted to go on a road trip this summer but it's not happening this year. That's okay. . .it gives me more time to play in my craft room which is a fun journey in itself.

Crazy 4 Challenge - C4C98 Tent Card

A tent card is sort of like a box card. You can't open it like a normal card but it's a card you can set on your desk like you would a picture frame. A good idea would probably be to add a photo on the inside.

I decided to add a sentiment to inside. Initially I was going to add an image but changed my mind.

I decided to sew a lace flower and add a pearl to the center and stick a beaded pin to it. Nothing much else to discuss about my card. The designer papers are by SEI. . .they're such a pretty papers . . I love them!

Fabric Flowers

Hi Friends! I finally made a bunch of new fabric flowers that I listed on Etsy. I've been sort of sitting on it for the past weeks. I do have a ton of pretty fabrics and I was debating whether to make "finished" projects such as bags, aprons, and such. I decided I'll work on flowers for now and when I have more time, I'll work on other sewn items.

Anyway. . .just a little info on the flowers. They measure 2.5 x 2.5". They may be too large for card projects but they can be used for hair accessories such as headbands and clips or altered projects such as boxes and other gift items.


I bought a few yards of satin fabrics and made these satin/lace cabbage/rose style flowers. They're great for shabby chic projects.

This set is a colorful one. I love the pretty flower prints. Again, measuring 2.5 x 2.5". I'll see if I can create an altered box and add some of my fabric flowers to the design so you can see how they look on altered projects. I was thinking of making headbands with them . . .I have a lot of different ideas on what to do with the flowers. I just need to find the time to actually work on them!

Anyway. . .I'll probably work on a few cards or tags for the rest of the day. It's going to be a fun day for sure! I love Fridays! I think Friday is my favorite day. What is your favorite day?

Shabby Chic Happy Birthday Card

Hello Friends!! Hey, no allergies today and I'm also back on Facebook! I decided to cut my Facebook sabbatical short. I was able to stay off Facebook for close to two weeks without updating my status or logging in to read my friend's updates. I thought I would have a difficult time because honestly, I was a bit addicted to Facebook. I mean, you're addicted if you're on there posting what you ate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, where you're shopping, when you woke up, when you're going to bed. . .LOL! I do find it hilarious . . .I don't think I was that bad but I do know a few people who do post updates ALL day!

I did log in on Facebook to wish my friends happy birthday but other than that, I remained off the site and it actually wasn't too difficult. I was tempted the first few days to log in and post a status but after a few days, I really didn't think about it much. So. . .all you FB addicts, you can be cured of your addiction. . .just take a break. . . hehe!
Anyway. . .I did create this post to actually talk about my card. Nothing really different about it from my other shabby chic cards. I did sew the lace flower which I don't think I've added to any of my cards in the past. I then topped the lace flower with a satin rosette and stuck a pin that I had added beads to embellish it a bit.

I also added a few additional silk flowers. I usually use Prima flowers but I have a bunch of silk flowers in my stash so I decided to use them instead.

I stamped the sentiment and cut it to look like a banner and embellished it with a heart button. That's about it!

Anyway, gotta run. . .I need to pick up my daughter at the bus stop! Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday evening!!

Revamped Thank You Card

Hi Friends! Gosh, the past 2 days have been bad allergy days for me! I could barely see or think straight but after taking an allergy medication today I was able to actually create a card. I was really motivated this morning but I just could not function. Thank goodness my allergy medication worked. After I felt better, I decided to do some creating and worked on "revamping" a card I had previously made. Do you have handmade cards that are out dated or maybe needs a little oomph to it? Well I felt this card was missing a little something so I decided to revamp it by adding a few extra embellishments to it.

I added the Prima rose to what was originally just the daisy Prima flower. It also didn't have a sentiment. It was just a plain note card with no theme to it but I decided a sentiment needed to be added to the card.

To create the grid pattern I used my Scor-pal and in a diagonal direction created the pattern by scoring every 1/2 inch then to dress it up a little, I added micro beads to the connecting points of the pattern.

It's funny how a pretty Prima rose can make such a difference to a card. I'm in love with Prima flowers!


There were a lot of white space around the sentiment and I didn't like how it looked so I added the dew drops to eliminate some of the white space and to add some balance.

Anyway. . .I'm hoping to be able to work on a few things this evening. Hopefully, my allergies don't return! Hope y'all are having a wonderful evening!
