Pin Cushion, Crochet Flowers, and Beaded Stick Pins

Hi Friends! Happy Friday! I've been busy trying to come up with different projects to list on Etsy. On Etsy, sellers recommend opening separate shops for target items but honestly, it's hard work managing even a single shop. I would have to fill my shop with items to sell and well, I don't know if I have enough time to fill up two or even 3 shops. Unfortunately, my shop is beginning to look like a hodge podge of different handmade items because I do like to paper craft, sew, crochet and make jewelry so I have all types of handmade items in my shop right now. That's okay, the more variety the better, right?

I've been selling on Etsy for 3 months now and I'm trying to create different items because unless you already have a niche in the market, selling handmade cards is difficult. As much as I love making cards and love buying them my self, Etsy is pretty saturated with card sellers. There are a few sellers that are doing really well but they've been selling on Etsy for years. Because I'm new, well. . .I need more exposure which can be difficult when there are literally 200,000 handmade cards listed on Etsy. Two hundred thousand!!! That's mind blowing!

Anyway, about my pin cushion! I'll be making more of them. I really enjoy making them. Because I love Christmas so much, I decided to make a Christmas pin cushion!!! The pin cushion measures 5" round and 2.75" from the bottom to the top of the flower topper. It's made with cotton fabric and felt. I added pearl beads and a sewn flower with a pearl bead to the center.

Because I make the flowers to sell, I decided to use it on my pin cushion.

Other items I currently listed on Etsy are these beaded stick pins which I use often on my shabby chic cards. They're made with jewelry beads primarily glass and pearl beads as well as silver toned Tibetan spacer beads and bead caps. They measure 3" or 2.5" from the top of the pin's bead to the end of the pin. If you want to take a look at them: Click Here I have a few sets listed right now.

Although I currently have a bunch of 1.5 x 1.5" crochet flowers already listed, I decided to create larger crochet flowers measuring 2 .5" round with more petals and dual colors. The ones in this picture have 6 petals and measure 2.5". I haven't created enough to list them in my shop. I'll work on them and list them soon. I do have a bunch of the 1.5" round crochet flowers already listed if you want to take a look at them: Click Here

These crochet flowers are the 3" round flowers. They have 7 petals instead of 6. I'll make more of them and list them on Etsy in the near future! Because they lay flat and aren't bulky, they're great for cards or altered and scrapbook projects.

Anyway. . .I think I'm going to make a few more pin cushions and work on a few handmade cards this weekend!

Hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!

Fabric Flowers

Hi Friends! I finally made a bunch of new fabric flowers that I listed on Etsy. I've been sort of sitting on it for the past weeks. I do have a ton of pretty fabrics and I was debating whether to make "finished" projects such as bags, aprons, and such. I decided I'll work on flowers for now and when I have more time, I'll work on other sewn items.

Anyway. . .just a little info on the flowers. They measure 2.5 x 2.5". They may be too large for card projects but they can be used for hair accessories such as headbands and clips or altered projects such as boxes and other gift items.

I bought a few yards of satin fabrics and made these satin/lace cabbage/rose style flowers. They're great for shabby chic projects.

This set is a colorful one. I love the pretty flower prints. Again, measuring 2.5 x 2.5". I'll see if I can create an altered box and add some of my fabric flowers to the design so you can see how they look on altered projects. I was thinking of making headbands with them . . .I have a lot of different ideas on what to do with the flowers. I just need to find the time to actually work on them!

Anyway. . .I'll probably work on a few cards or tags for the rest of the day. It's going to be a fun day for sure! I love Fridays! I think Friday is my favorite day. What is your favorite day?

Well, what ever day is your favorite, I hope you all have a beautiful Friday!

Elegant Dangling Earrings, Crochet Flowers & Yo Yo Flowers

Hi Friends! Happy Friday! Just a quick post today on a few projects I worked on the last few days! I listed all of these items in my Etsy shop: Inspired & Unscripted. The first project is a pair of dangling earrings that I worked on. I decided to create sort of an "icy" design to the earring with a bit of a vintage and shabby chic style.

I love the filigree bead caps! They're so pretty! The earrings are made up of pearls, silver findings, filigree bead caps, blue glass beads, and frosty lucite flowers. I think this is something you can wear to dinner and would look perfect with a white or silver dress.

I worked on a few mixed colors of this daisy loom knit flowers. It's double layered and I used worsted acrylic yarn rather than crochet thread this time around. They can be used for headbands, hair accessories, brooches, or even cards, scrapbook and altered projects because they are fairly flat. They're not bulky so they can be used as card and scrapbook embellishments.

I used a loom knitting daisy flower tool to create the flowers and honestly, it takes more time to make these flowers than regular crochet flowers but I really liked the look of the petals so I decided to work on them anyway.

Here's a set of yo-yo flower that I had hand sewn. I made a few different ones in different colors. I plan make more of them. I like coming up with different types using different buttons! It's really fun!

Anyway. . .I hope all are having a fabulous Friday. . .July 4th weekend is coming up for us in the US! I can't wait to see the fireworks. . .:) That's it for today! Have a great day, Friends!

Dangling Earrings and Yo Yo Flowers

Hi Friends! A post! Wow! I haven't been blogging much, it seems but I have been crafting. I don't like posting projects that appear too similar to a previous post. I mean who wants to see a similar project but just in a different color or variation? I don't know, I just don't think you do. Well, I did create a pair of vintage inspired earrings and a few yo-yo fabric flowers yesterday. A little different. . .I've never created yo-yo flowers so this project was fun to make.

I really love vintage style jewelry! Although the beads and findings aren't vintage, they do have a touch of vintage flare to them with the antique brass flowers and pearls. The earrings are pretty dainty. ..measuring only 2.5" in length, I like how feminine they look. It's an understated accessory. When I wear necklaces, I don't like wearing bold or large earrings because it just feels like it's too much. I've seen women who wear large bold earrings with an ornate necklace and I don't know, I just think it starts to look a bit loud. . .sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone . . .it's just my taste. . .I don't like looking overly stated and overly accessorized.

I worked on a few yo-yo fabric flowers. I had to hand sew them. . .I tried to make them using the sewing machine and nope, it didn't work out too well. . . so hand sew it is. I have a ton of fabrics and haven't been quite in the mood to sew bags or aprons. I've been really lazy lately when it comes to sewing. I need to allot some time to work on sewing projects. . .it's not something you can do on the fly.

Here is another set that I created. I like mixing the crochet flowers with the yo-yo flowers. I think I'm going to work on more of them!

Anyway. . .I've been having terrible allergy attacks lately and today, I haven't sneezed yet so I better work on a few things before I start sneezing again. I can't craft when I'm having allergy attacks. . .it just makes me so miserable but right now, I'm okay. Yay!

I listed these items in my Etsy Shop: Inspired & Unscripted. Stop by my shop and check out the other items I've listed as well.

Shabby Chic Card Gift Set with Woven Fabric Pouch

Hi Friends! I decided to work on a gift set this morning. I really like the idea of a fabric pouch to store the cards rather than a box. I think it's pretty and the pouch can be used as a gift bag or as a pouch after the cards are used. What do you think?

I listed two sets of this gift set in my Etsy Shop: Inspired & Unscripted

I bought this woven fabric to use for fabric flowers but I had enough to spare to make a few pouches. I had sewn the pouch and just tied a seam binding around it to hold the cards in and I created the design to match the cards! I think the next one that I'll make, I'll make a fancier one by sewing lace on to the fabric or add other embellishments! I was going to stamp on the fabric but it wouldn't have matched the cards so I decided to keep it plain so it matches the cards.

The cards were embellished with crochet flowers, dyed seam binding, trimmings and lace.

I used my Unity Stamps to stamp the butterfly and I collaged the images on Photoshop to create the design.

Just added my crochet flower and seam binding bow.

Anyway. . .I think I'll work on a few more card set but I'm really itching to create some earrings and sew aprons! LOL! I have a few cute apron patterns that I want to work on and I bought a few lamp work beads. I really want to create something with them! Hopefully, I can work on them today. . .

Well that's it for today! I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!!!

Fabric Lace Shabby Chic Vintage Inspired Flowers

Hi Friends! I've been obsessed with making fabric and crochet flowers! LOL! Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to make complete projects with the fabric flowers I've been creating. I'm hoping I'll be able to squeeze in the time this week to make a few cards and maybe an altered box using some of the flowers I've made!

I had bought the purple eggplant chiffon fabric initially to sew a few scarves with them but decided to cut them up and sew some fabric flowers instead. With the set above, I had sewn lace to the fabric and created flowers topping them with gold vintage pearl buttons. I listed this set in my Etsy shop.

With this set, I sewn an off white tulle to the fabric and added faux pearl to the center.

I've started crocheting motiffs (off white) initially to add to my handmade cards. They have a scalloped mini doily appearance and I was going to layer a circle sentiment or image over it but realized they look like flowers when using it as a layering embellishment, They fit nicely as an addition on to my lacey flowers. I also added a smaller crochet flower and a decorative gem to the center. I like the shabby chic look to the flowers!

I did the same thing with this set but I used a my crochet Stampin Up Melon Mambo dyed flowers and a pink decorative gem instead. I listed all these flowers in my Etsy shop. I'm hoping this week I can create finished projects using the flowers so you can see what you can make with them. They make for great embellishments for head bands and hair accessories. Maybe I'll work on making headbands with them. I'll see. . .:) I'm not very good at planning. I usually end up doing something other than what I plan to do so it's best I don't plan on anything. I like being spontaneous when it comes to creating!

Anyway, stop by my Etsy shop and check out the new items I've listed so far! Here is the link to my shop: Inspired & Unscripted.

Heart Shaped Shabby Chic Tags

Hi Friends! Just a quick post on this shabby chic heart tag set that I just finished creating and listed on Etsy. I think my next project will be a set of handmade cards but I wanted to work on one more tag set.

I cut my card stock with a heart die then stamped the heart image using my Unity Stamp. I rubbed ink around the heart shape to give it a bit of a distressed look then embellished the tags with lace, seam binding, crochet flowers, and faux pearls.

I listed a bunch of these crochet flowers in my Etsy Shop. I had dyed the crochet flowers with Stampin Up Pink Pirouette ink and I did the same with the seam binding so they match.

I stamped the image on to the heart shaped tag then just added all the embellishments.

I also worked on this set of lace flowers. It takes a lot of lace to create the flowers and I had enough lace to only make one set of these flowers. I wish I had purchased more of this lace. . .I think it's pretty.

Honestly, part of the reason why I'm making these lace and fabric flowers is that I have such an abundance of materials. I had this ambitious idea that I could create cards and projects with them but the truth is there isn't enough time in the day to create projects that would allow me to use up all the lace, ribbons, and buttons that I have. I thought that making embellishments will give me somewhat of the satisfaction of actually creating something with them. . . .:)

Okay, that's it for today. Stop by my Etsy store and check out the items I've listed: Inspired & Unscripted

Shabby Chic Tags and Vintage Inspired Fabric Lace Flowers

Good Morning Friends!! I made another set of tags and fabric flowers! I haven't gotten into a good rhythm as far as creating things. Because I crochet my own flowers, create my own fabric flowers, tags, and everything else, I have to divide my time in each area and well, I do a little of this and do a little of that trying to fit everything in a day.

I created this set of tags yesterday. This time around I decided to stamp the image rather than using a collaged image. I used my Unity Stamp. . .I love this floral image. I stamped the image then heat embossed the image with pink embossing powder.

I had crochet the flowers, dyed them, then added vintage style buttons. The crochet flowers are dyed with Stampin Up Pink Pirouette ink. My plan is to create more crochet flowers and dye them in different Stampin Up colors. I also listed white crochet flowers if you want to dye them yourself. They're listed in my Etsy store: Inspired & Unscripted. I also dyed the seam binding bows with the same color.

Here is a close up of the crochet flower! I love the button! So vintage!

I also added a glittered heart chipboard that I cut with my Sizzix die, painted with acrylic paint and sprinkled glitter all over. As you can see the image is embossed. The tags design is understated. . .I wanted to create a simple look. I love the shabby chic look.

I created a bunch of fabric lace flowers yesterday. This time around I used a satin fabric with lace and added a faux pearl to the center.

These flowers may used for bows, brooch, card making, scrapbooking, altered projects, or sewing projects. I was going to create brooches with them but decided that I would sell them as a supply rather than finished projects.

I've listed them in my Etsy shop. I made more fabric flowers but I still need to take photos and list them. I'll work on doing that today!

Well, I need to get back to creating! I've been having a ton of fun creating different projects. I'll probably work on something jewelry or sewing this week. I haven't created any jewelry or sewn items for a while now. It'll be a nice change to work on them! Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Shabby Chic Vintage Inspired Tags, Fabric Flowers and Embellishments

Hello Friends! Looks like Blogger is now fixed! Apparently it flaked out for the past day or so and bloggers weren't able to post anything. Well. .. now that Blogger is fixed, I can now post a few projects that I created.

I created this set of 3 handmade tags and I just posted this set in my Etsy store. My plan is to make more of them! I really had fun creating these tags. It's a fabulous way to use up my supplies! I can't wait to make more of them!

I printed the images using a vintage clipart from a CD I had purchased years ago! I cannot believe that the ephemera images have become useful again. There was a time way back when I first started making cards and other paper craft projects . . .my style was more of the shabby chic altered art collage type of design. I started to move away from this style because I started to create more of the "cute" designs that were popular in the paper crafting world. I didn't sell or got rid of my supplies because well, I'm naturally a hoarder and I thought that maybe I would return to this style again one day and I did! Yay!

Anyway. . .just a little info about the tags. I had "collaged" the images in Photoshop, then I printed the images on to card stock then cut the tags with my Stampin Up Top Notes die. I embellished the tags with lace. I added the heart chipboards that I had cut using a Sizzix die, painted with acrylic paint and sprinkled with glitter. I am making a whole bunch of crochet flowers to sell on Etsy and decided to use a few of them on my tags. I added the Prima that I had layered to create a rose type of flower and finally distressed the edge of the tags using Tim Holtz distress ink.

I just wanted to share a few more items that I had listed on Etsy. This is an embellishment set of fabric roses, shabby chic bows/stick pin and 2 x 2 off white crochet flowers that I created handmade. I also dyed the seam binding bow with an apricot colored dye and stuck a stick pin that I had embellished with faux peal beads.

Yesterday I had posted a bunch of fabric flowers on my blog that I worked on recently. I sorted through the different types of flowers and created sets to sell on Etsy. This set of fabric flowers measure 2.5 x 2.5" and they were made using a satin fabric and tulle.

I kept the loose threading on the flower because I love how it adds to the shabby chic look of it!

Here is a similar set of flowers as the white ones above but I dyed the edge of the flowers just to add color to them.

Honestly, I'm not really comfortable with posting the items I sell on Etsy because I don't want my blog to be a "promote my Etsy shop" blog but selling on Etsy is so competitive. If I don't "advertise" my shop to some degree, my shop will get lost amongst all of the other more prominant sellers on Etsy. The top sellers are usually promoted by other blog sites and websites so many times, the smaller shops like mine never gets seen at all. I would love to continue creating handmade items because I really do enjoy making them but I do need a source of income to continue so I hope you'll tolerate my "advertising" of my Etsy shop. . .:)

Here is a link of my Etsy Shop: Inspired & Unscripted Check out the new items I've listed!!!

Anyway. . .I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!
