Sarah Kay Card

Hi Everyone!! Happy Friday! Unbelievable! I remember waking up and it was Monday and I blinked and now, it's Friday. LOL! Where have the days gone? Before I begin rambling, I just wanted to let you know where I got this fabulous Sarah Kay image. . . .I got it from "Little C's Stamps n' Things". Little C's is having a MAJOR sale in October. . .35% off everything in her store! Okay, where can you get that sort of deal, huh? Better stop by her store before it's too late!! Click on the banner below and don't forget to use the code when checking out!!

Lately I've been feeling stagnant creatively. Do you know that I haven't tried a new stamping technique for almost 6 months? I sort of been doing the same thing over and over and have stopped "learning". I think my problem is related to time constraint. Creating a card with a "technique" takes much more time than just coloring an image and slapping it on to a designer paper. . .so, to make life easier for my self, I color an image and add a designer paper, ribbon, and maybe an embellishment somewhere on a card and I'm done.

Sooo. . .I think once a week, I'm going to ltry a new stamping technique or experiment with a few stamping potions in my stamping lab and I'll share what I learned or come up with.

Do you have a "stamping lab"? That's what I call my craft room when I "experiment" with powders and potions. . .LOL! That's how I see stamping stuff. . ."potions", like a witches brew. Too funny.

Anyway, now to my card. . . .

  • I colored the image with Copic Markers
  • Rubbed SU Pastels to the background
  • Added SU Crystal Effects to the girl's bow
  • Stamped the flower images with pigment ink
  • Heat embossed the flowers with clear embossing powders
  • Added flower rhinestones to the flowers
  • Cut the stamped imate with the "Coluzzle Oval Template"
  • Cut around the oval shape using "Fiskar Cloud Scissors"
  • Punched the center border using "Fiskar Border Punch"
  • Punched the sentiment with "SU Word Window Punch"
  • Layered two designer paper
  • Added a ribbon to the center

Here is a close up of the heat embossed flowers with the rhinestones

I don't know if you can see it in the picture but the little girl's bow and the bear's bow have Crystal Effects on them to give them a shiny 3D look.

Anyway. . .hope y'all have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend!!

SO cute! I love that stamp & those sweet embossed flowers with the bling. I hear you about time; where does it go? In my case it goes to cards that take 6 odd hours. I am SO slow!! If I had kids and a big house & yard to maintain, I'd never get anything done. Can't wait to see some potions brewing up. You always astound me with your work and it always seems fresh & new, but you have such a wide wealth of knowledge about so many products & things that I just know your mad stamp scientist stuff ;o) will be awesome fun! You ROCK!!!
