SCS Color Challenge CC225 and Inky Impressions

Hi Friends!! I'm sure all of you heard of the death of Michael Jackson. Such a sad news. I have a little story about Michael Jackson. . .when I was 12 years old, Michael Jackson did a concert in Hawaii and my neighborhood friends were lucky eough to see his show. My parents didn't allow me to go and I think I cried for a week. I was so upset and I remember being so envious that my friends were able to see his concert. I remember being mad about it for a long time. LOL!

Fast forward to 1997. . .Michael Jackson did a concert in Hawaii for his "History" tour and Hawaii was the only US stop that he did. Hawaii was the last stop of his tour and coincidentally, his very last major concert. My cousin called me the day of the concert and asked me if I wanted to see the show. . .the show was already sold out but we decided to take a chance and see if there were still tickets available. If we had to see the show in the parking lot. . .we were willing to take it.

Well. . .it turned out they opened up the VIP section to the public the day of the concert! UNBELIEVABLE!! We paid floor price for the VIP section. We were in the 27th row from the stage. We were seated next to a bunch of celebrities . I was so excited, I cannot even remember who were seated around us but I remember my cousin telling me "OMG, there's so and so. . ."

Despite whatever the press says about Michael Jackson. . .his show was the BEST concert I have ever been to and I've seen many concerts from Britney Spears, the Police, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, NSYNC, Alanis Morisette, etc., etc.

I remember at the end of the show, there were fireworks. . .I have never seen fireworks like that. We were so close to it that it appeared that the fireworks were going to land on us. It was spectacular and since then, I have not been able to see a firework show without comparing it to the one I saw at the Michael Jackson concert.

He was the ultimate showman. . .everything about his concert was AMAZING and wow, I feel so privileged to have attended his very last concert. I could cry thinking about it. . .

Did any of you see a Michael Jackson concert? Share your story. . I'd love to know if you felt the same way that I did about his show. RIP Michael!

Okay. . .now to my card! LOL! I decided to participate in the SCS Color Challenge - CC225. . .a day late but that's okay. The color combo for this challenge is Kraft, So Saffron, and Night of Navy.

I decided to use my Inky Impressions Bunny Ears Lili image. I removed Lili's bunny ears and decided to create a haku lei around Lili's head. I also covered the Easter eggs with flowers. I printed the sentiment using my computer. Be sure to stop by Inky Impressions and check out their super cute stamps!! Inky Impressions also have a new challenge each week at the Inky Impressions Challenge blog!

Anyway. . .I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

I just love the card Maria.

I have seen MJ in concert back in the UK. The one and only time he came to my home town. I was super excited. It was one of the most awesome things ever. Back before all the scandel and stuff. He was always the showman. Those are the memories I choose to remember about him. I have a ton of his stuff from when I was younger.

Hugs
Nic

Beautiful card Maria! I just love the colors together. It is just genius how you took an image that many of us would only see as Easter and made it for any day. I wish I had your brain!

I never saw MJ in concert but was a big fan as a middle schooler. Earlier this year my DH and I were showing our daughter the video for Thriller and trying to explain how big of a deal his music and videos were to us as kids.
Take Care, :-) Traci

So happy that you had the chance to attend the MJ concert. While I'm not a big fan I can understand your excitement and the saddness many feel of his passing.
