Creations by AR New Release Blog Hop

Hello Friends! Welcome to the Creations by AR blog hop! Adela created 3 new templates this month! Whoohoo! And, they are all so darn cute!

Come and play along in our blog hop and you may win one of the new release templates listed above. All you need to do is comment my post. The wonderful thing is you have several opportunities to win by commenting the other designers post. Each designer will announce the winner on their blog. The winner will be announced on Thursday, September 1st.

I decided to work on the Once Upon a Time Carriage. There is a matching castle that goes along with the carriage. Together they make for a perfect gift box for a little princess. The carriage can be used as a box for treats as a party favor or given as a treat box. I'll post a sample of the castle on Thursday. Stay tuned. . .:)

To decorate the carriage, I used Stickles iridescent paint around the window of the carriage and added a few satin rosettes.

I also added a larger rose to the center of the carriage and decorated the wheels with SU Filigree designer brads and added a pink crystal to the center. This carriage is so easy to put together. . .it's just a matter of decorating it.

Okay. . .so be sure to comment so you'll have a chance to win! Good luck!

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C102

Hello there Friends!! It's Saturday and it's Crazy 4 Challenges time again! It's funny because, lately, I've only been blogging on Saturdays. . sorry about that. It's been a busy week for me. Okay. . .this week Frances' challenge is to create a "manly themed card". The first thing that crossed my mind when I saw the challenge was "oh no. . .no bling, no flowers, no frilly stuff". . .it was tough initially but I got over it. . hehe! Anyway, come and play along with us this week.

You want manly. . .I'll give you manly! I think this Stampin Up stamp is the most manly image I have. Honestly, when I have to make a masculine card, this is the first image that comes to mind. I don't have too many masculine stamps or images so this one always work for me.

Actually this challenge was perfect considering today is our wedding anniversary so I'm going to give this card to my husband. It was meant to be!!

The designer paper is also Stampin Up and it's a retired design. I still have quite a bit of designer paper in this pack. . ..I tend to use my SU designer paper sparingly because most of the ones I own are retired and well, when it runs out. . .they're gone forever. I usually use them for special cards.

I thought the sentiment is perfect for today's occasion! I also made another card for my husband that says "happy anniversary". . .which is a general card and this one is a special one.

Anyway. . .gotta run! Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!!

Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C101

Hello Friends! Hey. . .it's Crazy 4 Challenges time again! This week Frances came up with a "Bingo Challenge". . .stop by C4C and look at the Bingo criterias. My choice was "Square card, Embossing, and Brads". You can't see it in the photos but my flower image is embossed.

This week our sponsor is Flourishes. . .the winner of this week's challenge will win the Wedded Bliss and Seeds of Friendship stamp sets! So be sure to play along with us! Good luck!

For my card I used the Flourishes "A Year in Flowers 2" for the flower image and the sentiment from the "Signs of Spring" stamp set. I heat embossed the flower in copper embossing powder. I decided to not color the image in. The outline isn't dark enough so I decided to just keep it simple. Flourishes, I feel, have one the most prettiest stamp images. . .the images are so elegant and can easily make a card or project look so pretty!

I inked the sentiment with Tim Holtz distress ink, cut the sentiment out and layered it over the SU Key Tag label.

The designer paper is by K&Co.

I added the layered Prima flowers but honestly, I don't think I like the flowers on the card. I may remove them. What do you think? Should I leave them on or remove the?. To further embellish the card, I added lace, SU satin ribbon, and finally the brads.

Alrighty then. . .that's it for today! Hope you all have a fabulous Saturday!

Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C100 Monochromatic Card

Hello Friends! Today is challenge time again! Crazy 4 Challenges time! This week Frances came up with a fun challenge. The challenge is to create a card with a monochromatic coloring. Well I took it to a step up and created a monochromatic card. Actually, I misunderstood the challenge. . LOL! I thought the challenge was to have the whole card be monochromatic when it's only the image that needs to be monochromatic.

I decided to use a beautiful image by Flourishes. I thought the Flourishes Year in Flowers 2 rose image was perfect for this challenge. I stamped the image using my Stampin Up Rose Red ink on to a speckled cream card stock and mounted it on to a scallop circle then added the satin ribbon to the top of the image.

Do you see the rose printed strip to the background? It's actually fabric! You can't really see the texture of the fabric in the photo but in person you can tell it's fabric rather than paper. To embellish the card, I added lace and stuck dew drops to the lace.

I also used my crochet flowers . . .I'm selling them on Etsy. Right now I only have the smaller flower listed. . .not the bigger one. I'm still working on crocheting bigger flowers. Hopefully, I'll have them listed soon. I stuck 2 beaded pins to the crochet flower and also added a small rosette to the crochet flower.

As you can see, the image is monochromatic! I love the simplicity of it! It makes the image look really elegant!

Okay. . .be sure to stop by C4C and check out the lovely cards the design team created!

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

Pin Cushion, Crochet Flowers, and Beaded Stick Pins

Hi Friends! Happy Friday! I've been busy trying to come up with different projects to list on Etsy. On Etsy, sellers recommend opening separate shops for target items but honestly, it's hard work managing even a single shop. I would have to fill my shop with items to sell and well, I don't know if I have enough time to fill up two or even 3 shops. Unfortunately, my shop is beginning to look like a hodge podge of different handmade items because I do like to paper craft, sew, crochet and make jewelry so I have all types of handmade items in my shop right now. That's okay, the more variety the better, right?

I've been selling on Etsy for 3 months now and I'm trying to create different items because unless you already have a niche in the market, selling handmade cards is difficult. As much as I love making cards and love buying them my self, Etsy is pretty saturated with card sellers. There are a few sellers that are doing really well but they've been selling on Etsy for years. Because I'm new, well. . .I need more exposure which can be difficult when there are literally 200,000 handmade cards listed on Etsy. Two hundred thousand!!! That's mind blowing!

Anyway, about my pin cushion! I'll be making more of them. I really enjoy making them. Because I love Christmas so much, I decided to make a Christmas pin cushion!!! The pin cushion measures 5" round and 2.75" from the bottom to the top of the flower topper. It's made with cotton fabric and felt. I added pearl beads and a sewn flower with a pearl bead to the center.

Because I make the flowers to sell, I decided to use it on my pin cushion.

Other items I currently listed on Etsy are these beaded stick pins which I use often on my shabby chic cards. They're made with jewelry beads primarily glass and pearl beads as well as silver toned Tibetan spacer beads and bead caps. They measure 3" or 2.5" from the top of the pin's bead to the end of the pin. If you want to take a look at them: Click Here I have a few sets listed right now.

Although I currently have a bunch of 1.5 x 1.5" crochet flowers already listed, I decided to create larger crochet flowers measuring 2 .5" round with more petals and dual colors. The ones in this picture have 6 petals and measure 2.5". I haven't created enough to list them in my shop. I'll work on them and list them soon. I do have a bunch of the 1.5" round crochet flowers already listed if you want to take a look at them: Click Here

These crochet flowers are the 3" round flowers. They have 7 petals instead of 6. I'll make more of them and list them on Etsy in the near future! Because they lay flat and aren't bulky, they're great for cards or altered and scrapbook projects.

Anyway. . .I think I'm going to make a few more pin cushions and work on a few handmade cards this weekend!

Hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!

Crochet Hats I'm Currently Working On

Hello Friends! I'm sorry I haven't posted anything since Saturday! Well. . first of all, I've been experiencing terrible allergies this whole week. . and I mean terrible!!! Non-stop sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes. . .I could not function! It finally let up and I was able to work on a few projects.

Currently, I'm working on crochet hats. . similar to the hats in the photos! The hats my daughter is using are just samples that I had created a while back. I decided to take photos of them with my daughter wearing the hats rather than on a mannequin.

All the crochet hats are the same in the photos, using different yarn colors. I'm planning to sell crochet hats on Etsy starting towards the end of the month. I've been debating whether to use a live model to show my hats or a mannequin. I think live model shows how the hat looks on a real person but on the mannequin it shows better details so I think I'll use both a live model and mannequin.

I really love slouchy crochet hats because it fits nicely on most heads and it's very hip and trendy! It also looks nice on both young and older people. I like wearing them myself. They make my large head look smaller! LOL!

I'll let you all know when I start listing them in my Etsy shop. I'm hoping at the end of August or the beginning of September!!

Anyway, I actually have projects I want to share but I'll post them tomorrow.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Crazy 4 Challenges - C4C99

Hello Friends! It's Crazy 4 Challenges time again and this month Frances will be hosting the challenges. She started off with a fun challenge! The challenge is to create a shape card other than square and rectangle. Well. . .my Cricut came to the rescue. . .my poor Cricut . . .I've been neglecting her. I haven't used it for such a long time.

First of all. . .I used a myscrapchick.com "Shape Cards" Girl Shirt file and cut the shirt shape on my Cricut! I sort of turned it to a dress. . .it works both as a shirt or a dress shape. I added a felt and crochet flower that I created and added the button. Using my Sizzix die I cut the heart shape then stamped on it, added the lace to the card, adhered the seam binding bow and stuck a beaded pin through it!

Here's a close up of the felt and crochet flower.

The leaf is by Prima. . .and the little blue gems are dew drops! It was rather quick to make the card. . .I basically stuck all the embellishments to the card and that's about it!

Thank you for visiting my blog. That's it for today! Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

New Facebook Page and Give Away

Hi Friends!! I finally took a leap and decided to start up a Facebook page for my craft creations and as a support for my Etsy shop! I was debating whether to start one up but I think it just makes sense. I've had a profile on Facebook and many times I share a lot of crafty updates but not all my friends on my regular Facebook profile care about anything crafty so I had to restrain myself from posting too many updates relating to crafting. Now I can be free to be crafty wild on my page and discuss crafting and my friends there want to hear about it! Yay!

On my page I'll be sharing new creations that I worked on, tutorials, and also my Etsy listings. I'll try to make it fun for both crafters and non-crafters since there is a mix of people liking my page.

Anyway. . .I just opened up the page last night and I'm giving a prize away when I reach my 150 likes. I already am giving away a prize for my 50 likes so why don't you stop by and like my Facebook Page: Inspired & Unscripted and have a chance to win a prize when I reach 150 likes! I may continue to give out more prizes as I gain more likes.

I'd love to see you there! Click Here to view my Facebook page or click below. . :)
