CTMH Thoughts of You

Good Morning Everyone!! Just a card I made a while ago using CTMH products.

I know there's a lot going on with it! LOL! I created the card using the "Thoughts of You" stamp set - D1255. and "Floral Tapestry Level 2 Paper Packet" X7084B.

Buying tips:

Do you like the 3D look on your cards? I buy those industrial size foam tapes on a large roll because I use them so often. Sometimes I can find them at really good prices on Ebay. The rolls go a long way and if you check them out online in "shipping or packing" companies or Ebay, you'll find the large rolls at super low prices. . .well, comparable to buying the small craft dots that are quite costly in my opinion.

The 3M Scotch transfer tape (ATG) tape that are so popular now . . .well, I remember buying them 4 years ago. I was surprised that everyone was making a big deal about them considering I've been using them for years.

I had gone to an office supply store when I first started stamping and decided to buy the transfer tapes because I found that it was exactly like the scrapbook adhesives. At the craft store they are promoted as "scrapbook" adhesives when they were basically transfer tapes. Transfer tapes are used to seal boxes. They stick better than "scrapbook adhesives" so you don't have to worry about your cards falling apart.

I think the difference may be is that "scrapbook" adhesives are "acid free" and safe for photos. I don't know if the transfer tapes are "photo" safe. Meaning it won't erode through photo paper or turn yellow.

Well, if you're a card maker. . .you're not using photo paper so it's not a real concern. Anyway, I buy bundles of the transfer tape and they are 36 yards for each roll. Imagine!! That puppy last a long, long time. Each roll is about $3.00 to $5.00 and they are at least 5X more of the tape per roll than the scrapbook ones that are found at craft stores.

Stop by your office supply store. . .you may find stuff that craft store sells as craft items at office supply store prices.

Another "buying" tip. . . the Kraft boxes that are sold at craft stores for $5.00 to $10.00 each you can find them at "box or shipping supply" stores and find that those Kraft boxes are cheaper, sometimes at even half the price.

Those CD tins that you find at craft stores selling for $3.00 - $5.00 each. . .well, you can buy them at cheaper prices if you head down the "wedding favor" section of the store. They are sold in bulk (12 in a box) for as low as $1.50 each CD tin and if you have a coupon at JoAnns, they can cost as low as a $1.00 each. You need to be a savvy shopper when crafting because crafting is an expensive hobby!!

Until later, gang!!

Maria,

I love your card. The colors are so vivid and they remind me of spring...whenever that decides to get here in Illinois.

Also, could you please post a picture of that 3M Scotch transfer tape (ATG) tape. Im not picturing what you are talking about. The only tape I know about packaging is only sticky on one side.

Thanks

Sonya

That is a lot going on....but it really WORKS great together! I don't know how you do it. The whole project just comes together perfectly - colors, shapes, composition and it's got the right amount of 'texture' too!

One quick question, Maria. What are the craft boxes that you've referred to? Are they ones that you alter or something else? Thanks again!!
