Don't Let Your Runaway Dog Distract You. . .

Yeah. . .

I was just about done coloring the image on this card and happened to look out my window and saw our dog Dakota running up the slope in our yard, squeeze his tiny body between our neighbor's fence and took off running!

Well. . .I stood up, ran down the hallway, down the steps, through the living room, into the kitchen, and started yelling at my kids that Dakota escaped. Long story short, he is now back inside his play area.

Anyway. . .I returned to my room, picked up a Copic marker and resumed coloring the floor area of the image and then realized, I picked up the wrong color. It was suppose to be a soft gray floor, not brown! Agggrhhh! Anyway, just don't let your crazy runaway dog distract you when you're coloring. It's annoying because the color doesn't coordinate with the rest of the card. Oh, well!

Did you know. . .I bought this stamp set from MFT about 6 months ago and this is my first time using it. I do that a lot. I'll see something, I need it right this instance, I'll buy it, I'll receive it, it goes into a box, I'll come across it a few months later and finally use it. Are you that way too? Just wondering. . .

Card Recipe:

Stamp: MFT Time for the Bubbly
Paper: DCWV Glitter stack, SU Brocade Blue, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Grosgrain ribbon

Maria, your floor looks great! Looks like a wood floor to me! So glad that you were able to get your dog back! The last time our dog got out it took us two hours of driving and looking with my son worrying the whole time that he might get hit by a car. Funny thing is, we didn't find him on our drive. He was waiting at home for us when we got back. Pets, gotta love em.

LOL great story Maria! You know I never would have thought anything different for your floor had you not said something! I think it looks great like this!
Oh my...I've bought so many things that I can't find them half the time. I've decided that if I buy something I MUST use it within a week of getting it. Otherwise, did I REALLY need it?

Love the sketch you posted...jotting this one down too!

I've boughten things before and never used them. But I can't get rid of them. I bought the truck and accessories set from stampin up. About 6 months ago, I still have not used it. But I just had to have it and I had to have it right now.

I love the floor, I think the card matches quite well. Looks more like a wood floor.

I am also glad you got Dakota back. That can be so scarey when a dog gets loose. I have a chihuahua that loves our neighbor and heads straight to his house (across the street) every chance she gets.

I think the card is beautiful. Before reading the story, I thought you had intended it that way to look like a hard wood floor!! LOL!!! I'm glad you got your dog back. I have gone on those chases more than once with my dogs!!

I think it happens if you have a lot of stamps ;)

What a wonderful card. I love all the layers. I'm right with you on purchasing stamps and not using them for -- months to years. I recently used Lovely As a Tree for the first time. I purchased the stamp four years ago. Ouch.

It looks like a wood floor, which is fabulous! I love this!

I do that ALL THE TIME! I have to have something, and then, what is it, the thrill is gone once I get it? Not sure if that's the case, it's just that I get it, maybe don't have time to use it right away, I put it away or to the side, and then don't get back to it for a while. Yep, that's me too!

yep - I always buy and use later. The floor looks fine, sister. Why don't you add some lines, and make them wood floors?! Just like the homes in Hawaii?! But I totally love the card - love the 3D bubbles!

Jen

I think that it looks great. Sometimes when we "goof" only we can see it ~ no one else can.

Great work, love your blog!

I know what you mean about dogs running. We used to have an Irish Setter that could be gone like a lightening bolt if he had a chance. The car was the only way to track him. Your card is great. I think a gray floor wouldn't be as striking as the brown floor is. The tub might have blended in too much. Anyway I like the wood floor look. Like your card. Linda Gray
