First Valentine Card and Tapestry Technique

Good Morning Folks! Hey, this is my first Valentine card for the year. It's best to start early.

One of my resolutions for this year is to create a card or project using a tutorial from SCS or someone else's blog site once a week and one I've never tried. Well, I thought the "Tapestry" technique on SCS was an easy one to try.

Hey, do anybody have a recommendation on a great tutorial that I should try? I think I'll stop by Allison's "Stampin When I Can" site and check out all the tutorial links she has on her site. I'm not sure why I didn't go there first.

I actually created cards in the past using this technique not knowing it had a name or that it was a technique. It's those times when I experimented with different materials and came up with something. The only difference is I did not use "white craft ink". . .instead I used different colors to stamp the image. I guess that's cheating on my part because Tapestry is really not a new technique for me to try but hey, I gotta start somewhere.

Well, it didn't come out exactly how it looks on SCS. My white stamped images sort of faded away and you can't really see the white hearts in the background. I'll try it again and use a darker background. Maybe that's the problem that occur ed with my card. You can see the white hearts in real life but it's really faint.

Card recipe:

Stamps: SU Loving Hearts, SU So Many Sayings
Paper: SU Real Red, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Pink Passion and Real Red Craft Ink, White Craft Ink, Real Red Markers
Accessories: JoAnn Brads, Grosgrain ribbon, Clear embossing powder, Hemp cord
