Busy Week and A Card. . .Yay!

Hey Everyone! Happy Saturday to y'all! Wow, I'm back from my busy, busy, crazy week! LOL!

Well, I spent the whole week cleaning out my garage and you know, I was delusional thinking that I could clean out my garage in a week. Yeah, right! I haven't even touched the surface of what I need to do to get my garage cleaned out! I think a month will be a more realistic timeline to get it where I want to. I busted my buns all week and the garage still looks like a mess. Whaaa!!!

I decided I needed a break from cleaning out my garage and worked on this card this afternoon!

You're saying. . .wow, there's a lot of stuff going on with your card, Maria! LOL! Yeah, I know! I kept going and going and going but that's okay. . .I had fun making this card. I haven't created a single thing for the whole week and it was just so darn nice to be able to finally sit down and make a card.

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils with gamsol and I used my Copic Markers to color the background. I, basically, layered the images using various stamps. The designer paper is by K&CO and the cardstock I used are SU Certainly Celery and River Rock.

This week has been crazy busy because my son graduated from high school yesterday! Yipee!! It was a flurry of activities for him. In between cleaning out my garage, I had to drive him back and forth to school for various Senior events and graduation activities!

Check out his pretty lei. My family sent a bunch of leis from Hawaii! It arrived just in time for the graduation ceremony yesterday evening!! I was so touched that they remembered to send him a lei. . .it was their way of congratulating him and bringing a bit of "Aloha" to my son's special moment!

I took this photo in front of our house! I wanted to take a few pictures of him with his lei on before we headed off to the ceremony. I knew that after the ceremony he would probably look sweaty and stuff.

Here is a picture of the graduation ceremony. It was held on the football field at the high school.
My son was like the 30th student to walk up to get his diploma and for the rest of the ceremony we had to sit through 700 more students.
Okay. . .it was a long, long ceremony.

This was taken after the ceremony. I took so many pictures of him and his friends! I wanted to take as many as possible because I know he probably won't see many of his classmates again. Everyone will be going off to college and they may never cross paths again which is very sad in a way.

Of all the photos taken with his friends, I sort of liked this one the best. It's a picute of friends hugging and congratulating my son. It just captures the moment in a way that really shows my son's true emotion.

This is another awesome shot! It's just so real and it captures exactly what I think my son was feeling. . .HAPPY!
Congratulations, Anton! You made it!

Your darling son is HANDSOME!!! I will have to remember your tip on taking a few photos prior to the graduation, because of sweat.... I hope I remember that one when it is Chazz' turn. Wow girl... your baby has finally graduated.... how do you feel?!?! He definitely look like he is relieved, and happy about it all. I am so happy that your family were able to send a lei up, he's gotta have the aloha, and doesn't it feel GREAT to show off that you are from Hawaii?!?!?! LOL!!!!

That card you made is gorgeous and your son too! :0) What a fabulous set of pictures for him to remember his big day by. You are a GREAT photographer. That's so sweet that your family sent him a lei. Congrats! Hope the garage comes together for you sooner rather than later. You've inspired me to clean up too. (If only I can make myself take a blog break!) :0) mel

Great card. I wanted to say congratulations to your son on graduating. He looks like a nice young man. An exciting time in his life. My mom had me in Hawaii at Tripler hospital and lived in Hawaii for about three years. My dad works with Hawaiian students now also, so the Aloha Spirit is definitely a part of our life.
