Random Card - Christmas in October

Hey Everyone! I have to admit I love my card! I really do. Why? I mean what's the big deal, right? Well. . .I'm rather proud of myself because I actually made a simple card that I like. The card looks better in person. . .honestly. It's all glittery in person, down to the dots on the swirls, the ornament and the sentiment. It's unfortunate the picture can't reflect the pretty glitters.

I have a really difficult time making a card without all the blings and pretty patter papers. I'm not very good with simple cards. I almost ruined the card by adding a ribbon somewhere on the base but I could not find a way to fit one in without it taking away from the pretty ornament and swirls.

Here's a close up of the ornament. It's all glittery. I used an embossing powder called "Egyptian Gold". I'm not sure who the company is because I bought it a rubber stamping store when I was still living in Hawaii. I think it was their own mix.

It's actually easy to create your own glittery gold embossing powder. Just mix a small amount of mixed colored glitter or gold glitter to your gold embossing powder. The key is to use very fine glitter.

I used gold Stickles to add the gold dots on the swirls. I also applied the embossing powder on the sentiment. I shaded the edge of the cardstock and distressed it.

Card Details:

Stamp sets: Baroque Motifs, Joy
Ink: Versamark, Old Olive
Paper: Old Olive, Cranberry Crisp, Whisper White
Accessories: JoAnn Brads, Gold Stickles, Egyptian Gold embossing powder, Gold organdy ribbon

Yes, I agree Maria, this is a wonderful card indeed. I have a tough time with making simple cards too. The glittery look is lovely.
