Paris In The Spring Card

Hi Everyone! Well, I decided to dust off a few of my older retired Stampin Up stamp sets which I've sadly neglected. They've been sitting in my garage crying for attention! LOL!

Because I've been cleaning out my garage, I had organized a few of my older stamp sets and as I was going through them, I decided to pull some of them out and use them.

I'm sure you're the same way but many of my stamp sets either have never been inked or I've used them once or twice years ago. How sad to spend so much money on those stamp sets and not use them. It's not like money is growing on my tree so what makes me think that this is acceptable. Sheesh, I probably could have funded several vacations with all the stamp sets that I've neglected to use. LOL!

Anyway. . .like the cards I've made in the past few days, I've been creating my own background using stamps. I created the background for this card using the SU Swirls & Blossoms. I had stamped the image on glossy card stock and using SU More Mustard, Wild Wasabi, and Lavender Lace sponge daubed the colors to parts of the image. I love using glossy cardstock because the color results are much more vibrant and adds a nice sheen.

I colored my primary image (SU Paris In the Spring stamp set) with Copic Markers and added a bit of highlight using a white opaque pen. The sentiment is from the SU Riveting stamp set. Other materials used are SU 1", 1/4", 1 3/8" circle punch and scallop punch, grosgrain ribbon and SU Crimper tool. The rest of the card is self-explanatory!

Now that I've used these stamp set

Awesome card. This stamp set is SO sweet and your colours rock. I love the way you make dp. It looks so original and gorgeous. The ribbon on here & the sentiment with the poodle are wicked sweet too. And how awesome that you left little white highlights on the colouring--looks fantastic like that. You're TOO good girlfriend! :0) P.S. Oh I Soooooooooo hear you on the money spent on unused sets (BUT we're using them now, Ya that's it!) ;0)
