The Greeting Farm Susie Surprise and Rock the Farm

Good Evening Friends!! Okay, this is the last post for today! Another post, Maria?!!! Yeah, calm down, calm down ladies. . .sheesh! Don't need to get excited! LOL! I know. . .I'm going nuts with all these postings! Well, after tonight. . .I'll be back to one post a day. . .I think!

Do you ever wonder why I post 3 photos of each of my card? Well . .not because I'm so in love with them that one is not enough! LOL! I know you were thinking that. . . Actually, I write a lot on my posts and rather than seeing one card and a whole lot of writing, I feel it's better to have a scenic view while you read my post. . .it's less boring that way.

These cupcake image are again from the Greeting Farm. It's from the Susie Surprise set. Okay, aren't those cupcakes yummy or what? They even have hearts on them. . .a whole lot love is radiating from those cupcakes.

Anyway. . .no sketches today. I was too lazy to make them. Sorry about that.

Okay. . .let's move on to my second card.

Card Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Susie Surprise
Papers: K&Co Designer Paper, SU Tempting Turquoise, Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Prima flower, Paper Cord, SU Scallop Edge Punch, SU Key Tag Punch, SU Word Window Punch, Joann brads, heart buttons (?), CB embossing folder

Okay, this is my second card!! Ooh, I had fun making this card!! The image is by the Greeting Farm Rock the Farm. Such a cutie. Hey, no ribbons. . .yeah, it was tough not adding it on but this is a boy/masculine card. . .no sissy ribbons for a boy.

I colored the image using my Copic Markers and added a few scrapbook embellishments. That's about it.

Hey, don't forget to scroll down to my previous post. . .I made a card made with flower images. Thought you might like to see something different besides cute type cards.

Anyway. . .stop by the Greeting Farm tomorrow. . they will be releasing the new stamps for May and I tell ya' you will go bonkers over them! I kid you not!

Hope y'all have a nice evening!! It's CSI and Supernatural night! Yay! I love Thursdays!!

Card Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Rock the Farm
Paper: SU designer series paper, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue, Taken with Teal
Ink: Copic Markers, Sakura Gel Pen
Accessories: K&CO scrapbook embellishments, frog buttons (?), Fiskar border punch, SU Word Window Punch, SU Large Oal Punch

Bouquet Spring Card

Hey Friends! First card post of the day! You mean there will be more? Yup! LOL! Argggh! Am I posting too many times? Sorry, it'll slow down next week. I usually get very busy with my DT stuff towards the end of the month. I have to learn to pace myself! I usually give my self a bit of a break at the beginning of the month.

As promised. . .remember yesterday I said I was going to make a flower card to change things up a bit. I've been posting a lot of cute type cards and my flower images are seriously being neglected so I decided to work on a flower card today. I actually colored this image a while ago. Sorta sat in my image folder. . .I actually didn't like how it looked but after I popped parts of the flowers, I began to like it better.

Do you like purple? I don't make too many cards with purple colors. Did you know of all the thousands of designer papers I have I don't have many purple designer paper. .A thousand? LOL! I'm exaggerating but it feels like that much. I have tons of dp. . .I can't control myself when it comes to dps.

Anyway, of all the dps that I have I don't think I have more than 20 of them with purple colors on them. It's like companies don't like to make designer papers with purple colors. Not sure why.

I colored the image with my copic marker and added a bit of stickles. Darn, the charm on my card is twisted sidewards on my photo. You know. . .I'm a quickie photo taker. . .one shot sorta gal. I have a routine and I don't take many shots of my cards. Usually, they come out nice the first time so I don't bother to take more than one shot of different angles.

Just to let you know, I have a Twilight discussion going on at my book club forum "the Cafe Corner Book Club". Stop by and give us your take of the book. . .I love discussions about this book! It's fun to see different perspectives. You don't have to join my book club to participate in the discussion so stop by and check it out!

Card Details:

Stamps: I have no idea
Papers: SU designer paper, SU Lovely Lilac (I think), Blue Bayou (I think)
Ink: Copic markers
Accessories: Hemp cord, Wedding charm, Making Memories ribbon, SU Key Tag Punch, Stickles, Martha Stewart border punch

Twilight Book - Discussion - 04/30 - 05/07

Discussion open to the public! Come join us!!!

Hey Twilight Book Lovers. . .I think it's time we discuss Bella and the crew! It seems everyone have read the Twilight books, except for a few . . .who are most definitely missing out! LOL!

We'll start off with the first book and I'll have the discussion up for a week starting today. The Twilight (1st book) discussion will run from April 30th to May 7th then we'll start on New Moon which will run from May 7th to May 14. What do you think? Is that a good schedule.

Anway, the discussion will be at the Cafe Corner book club's group forum and it'll be an open forum meaning you don't have to be a club member to join in the discussion. Non-member's messages or posts will be moderated.

On the forum, the discussion will be posted as a "page" but the discussion thread will be under the "discussion" section. Please don't reply via the "page".

Please be kind and courteous. Although stimulating discussions are welcomed, no bashing is allowed. LOL! I will not approve messages that I deem disrespectful to others or derogatory in any manner. I'm sure we'll be civil. . .considering this is a young adult fiction book. No dramas to be expected!

The discussion questions will posted on the group forum. Hope to see you there!!

The Greeting Farm Card and Altered CD Tin/Round Mini Accordion Album

Hey Friends! Just another post for the day! I know I've been doing a lot of double posting lately but I'm just trying to get a few cards out and posted before the end of the month. Gosh, it'll be a new month again.

Look at this cute elephant. . .isn't he adorable. This elephant is from "the Greeting Farm" stamp set "Showtime". Isn't he round and plump . . .almost like a pig! LOL!

Hey, he is eating the popcorn. I just noticed it right now. Maybe he is a pig after all.

As always, I colored the image with my copic markers, popped up parts the image. . same ole', same ole'.

Hey, today I'm working on a card with flower images. Something different! Whoohoo! I'll post it tomorrow.

Card Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Showtime
Paper: DCWV designer paper, SU Ballet Blue, Pink Pirouette
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Basic, Basic ribbon, Stickles Glitter, Fiskar Cloud Scissors, Coluzzle Circle Template

This little project is a CD tin that I altered. I bought a set of 12 of the CD tins that are sold in the wedding section of JoAnns. Yup. . .it's those favor sort of CD tins that they give out at weddings. The price is pretty good too. . . .with a coupon, the set cost $12.99. . .not bad for 12 CD tins, huh!

Again, I used the Greeting Farm stamp set. . .this one is from the "Lucky Bunny" set. Aren't they cute? I decided to stamp 3 of the bunny images and have them lined up in a row. The images didn't come the way they are lined up on my project. The bunnies are all individual stamps in the set.

The mini round accordion album is rather simple. I couldn't add too much bells and whistles because they'll cause my album to be too bulky and the cover won't close.

I decided to create a mini album with photos of my daughter and her cousins. Again, just a simple design. All of the designer paper and embellishments are by K&CO.

Here is a close up of the bunnies. Unfortunately, I had put the bunny rosey cheeks on the wrong part of their faces. One of them sort turned out looking like an alien with the cheeks in the middle part of its face! LOL! Argggh!! This is what happens when you rush through things!! Oh, well!

Hope y'all have a fantastic evening!!

Project Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Lucky Bunny
Papers: K&Co designer papers, SU Pink Passion, Certainly Celery
Ink: Copic Markers, Sakura Gel Pen
Accessories: Fiskar scallop scissors, K&Co Scrap Pad to Go, Fo-lala button, CD Tin

The Greeting Farm Flutter Anya and McSplendid Farm

Hi Friends! Yup, I made a whole load of the Greeting Farm cards! Wow, I was on the roll the past few days! I'll post more tomorrow. I gotta space them out.

Actually, when I was watch a movie or TV with my family, I have a tendency to fall asleep in the middle of the movies so to keep myself awake, I'll color images. Well, right now, I have stock pile of them. I kid you not!!

Putting the cards together is really quick because my images are already colored. You should try it!

Okay, enough chit-chat and let me get down to business.

This image on this card is Flutter Anya. As always, I colored my image with my Copic Markers

I love cutting out Anya's hair and remounting it with foam tape. It makes her hair look more realistic.

The flowers are chipboards by K&CO.

Card Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Flutter Anya
Paper: MME, SU More Mustard, Certainly Celery, So Saffron
Ink: Copic Markers, Sakura Gel Pen
Accessories: SU Ticket Corner Punch, CB Embossing Folder, Organdy Ribbon, Blue Moon Charm, K&CO Chipboard, Martha Steward Border Punch

This card was created using the McSplendid Farm stamp set. Okay, aren't these animal cute or what? I initially was going to put a bunch of chickies but decided to add the horse instead.

This is a simple card. Sometimes I gravitate towards simple designs and sometimes, I like very busy cards. I want to do both so this card is sort of on the minimal side.

I like diversity in my cards. . .I don't want my cards to look the same all the time. I'll start working on flower images towards the end of the week because I've been creating a lot of "cute" cards lately. I need to change things up a bit. Besides, it's spring so we need a bit of flowers in our life. Don't you agree?

Again, I colored my image with my Copic Markers and cut parts of the image and remounted them with foam stamp. Nothing new.

Anyway, I'll be posting more The Greeing Farm cards tomorrow. It's almost the end of the month and I need to meet my DT obligations! LOL!!

Be sure to stop by The Greeting Farm on the 1st of May. . .there's going to be a bunch of new stamps released in May. Just to let you know. . .they are SUPAH, DUPAH CUTE! I'm not kidding!!

See ya' all tomorrow!!

Card Details:

Stamps: The Greeting Farm McSplendid Farm
Paper: MME designer paper, SU Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa
Ink: Copic Markers, Sakura Gel Pen
Accessories: Grosgrain ribbon, K&CO button brad, Fo-la-la buttons

InStyle Stamps Sneak Peek - Leroy and Boys Like Girls Thunder Video

Hey Friends! Just a video and a card for you today! This video is by Boys Like Girls called "Thunder". My daughter can play this song on the guitar and I' like to sing the lyrics while she plays it. By the way, I don't sing very well but I love this song! It kills my daughter and husband when I ask my daughter to play it on the guitar because they know that I'll start singing the song. Knowing that she could play it, I memorized all the words. LOL! Well, today I decided to listen to the song and I felt a little sad. . .a good sad because it brings back good memories of me and my daughter having a good time. . .I think this will be a song when I listen to it years from now will make me cry. Silly, I know. Do you feel that way with some songs. . .you know, you feel a little sad because it brings back good memories?

This is actually my second post for the day! I actually have another one today but I'll post it later in the afternoon! I actually have a back up of cards that I created and well, it's sort of piling up! Can you believe it? "Do you craft all day?". you ask. No, I don't! LOL! But, what I am getting good at is being focused. Lately I can whip up a card within half an hour! As long as I don't do anything but color and put the card together. If I do a technique, then it takes me longer.

Now to the card, it's sneak peak of InStyle Stamps Leroy! Whoohoo! Okay, Leroy is a cool dude for sure! Look at him dance. Kinda reminds me of Obama when he's dancing. . .don't you think? LOL! I'm not a "masculine card" kind of gal so I didn't know how to dress this card up without it looking girly so I went through my stash of scrabook embellishments and I had this "Jolee's Boutique" jukebox embellishment like FOREVER! I don't know. . .I buy a lot of stuff and I usually have a purpose for them. . .like way back when I bought them but then it sorta sits in a container. I then forget what I bought it for in the first place.

I thought it fitting for a guy card. I think I'll give this card to my husband for Father's Day. I should have colored his hair brown because my husband has brown hair but I wasn't thinking of him initially when I made this card.

I drew in the checkered floor to make it look like Leroy is at a diner boogying his butt off! LOL!

I colored the image with my Copic Markers and that's about it!

Ballet Layout

Hi Friends!! A scrapbook layout. . .shocking! Two in a week, more shocking! LOL! I really am TRYING. . .one thing I'm getting good at is being a quickie scrapbooker. When I first started scrapbooking. . .I would take a long period of time "thinking" of how I should create it and I would get tired of it and not create a lay out or there would be a long stretch of time before I'll create another one.

I decided it is more important to create a layout than to make a spectacular layout. KWIM? Well, I've been admiring a few scrapbookers who create very simple layouts. . .not too many bells and whistles and I kinda like the simplicity of those layouts.

I was going to journal on this layout but I couldn't find a spot that could fit a journal without it looking unbalanced so I decided that this layout will be just about the photo.

Just a little bit about this photo or layout. My daughter was in ballet for 3 years. She started at age 4. By age 7, she hated it. LOL! Every year I would renew her classes and after a while she began making a lot of excuses as to why she didn't want to go.

After the second year, she wasn't remotely enthusiastic about attending her classes. I finally came to terms with the fact that she really wasn't enjoying herself.

I was disappointed because she was part of a very good ballet company that had awesome shows that my daughter was able to be part of. I loved seeing the shows and all the hoopla that went along with it.

But. . .I'm not the sort of mother that forces these things on their child. Sometimes as parents we tend to want things for our kids that our kids don't want. We think it's the best for them but there's a point when well, it becomes more about you than it is for your child.

I finally asked my daughter why she didn't like going to ballet and she said that she didn't like it because she been learning or perfecting the same steps for 3 years and she said that it wasn't fun. LOL! Ballet is about perfecting how your toes are pointed and how you turn a certain way and I can see why it was no fun for her.

After ballet, I signed my daughter up for gymnastics and she really had fun but it was too expensive, I really couldn't afford the lessons at that time. She also took piano lessons, hula, and guitar lessons. She did like piano lessons but not the guitar lessons. She wanted to be a "real" rock star guitar player! LOL! She wanted to learn playing the guitar on her own. Fortunately, through piano lessons, she was able to read notes so it helped. She's now really good at playing the guitar and all self-taught. I'm proud of her. She also can play the piano fairly well.

Anyway. . .sorry for the long story.

Layout details:

Paper: DCWV desinger paper
Accesories: K&CO designer border, K&Co button brad, Prima flower, JoAnn brads, Memory Boutique stickers

Christmas Stampin All Year Long Challenge #14 - (04-27-09)

Hello Friends! It's that time again! It's Christmas Stampin All Year Long challenge time! We're on week 14! Wow, already? Yeah, it does go by really quickly. I'm really having fun making these Christmas cards. . .mainly because a lot of my Christmas stamps do get neglected. I usually see them only once a year and lemme' tell yah, I have a lot of them. I rarely ever get to use many of them because by the time Christmas rolls around, I don't have the time to make too many Christmas cards. I usually resort to a fixed design using a few stamps rather than different cards, individualized and unique for each person that I give it to. Having the challenge blog is really helping me not only to make unique cards for Christmas but also use stamps that I otherwise would not have used.

This cute Christmas bird image is by the Greeting Farm. You may be familiar with the Greeting Farm stamps for their Anya stamps but the Greeting Farm have other characters and other theme stamps that are fabulous for different occasion including Christmas.

This stamp set is called "X-mas Birds". Aren't they cute or what? You know. . I didn't know what to color the birds so I ended up coloring them red but after I colored them, I didn't like that they were too red? Arggh!

I colored the birds with my Copic Markers and added a bit of glitter to puffy ball on the bird's cap.
Anyway, stop by Christmas Stampin All Year Long and check out the fantastic cards that the design team created! It will surely inspire you to create your Christmas cards early this year!!

Have a great Monday, Folks!

InStyle Stamps Melanie

Hi Friends!! Did you have fun hopping around with the InStyle Stamps April blog hop! Well, I had fun!! Thank you for those who voted for my project. I really appreciate it. I don't know who won, but there were so many AWESOME projects by the other designers that everyone were winners!

Hey, remember the other day I had talked about my Dakota having his 2 teeth extracted. Well, he also had his vaccination, teeth cleaning, ear cleaning and nail clipping and few other routine tests. . .all together we were down $1,000. Can you imagine? Dog care is stinkin' EXPENSIVE!! We also had to get our other dog Phoenix vaccinated, physical exam, etc. . .and that cost $289. Okay, people. . .animal care cost more than human care. Arrrgggh! But that's okay, we want our dogs to live a long and happy life so you gotta do what you gotta do but I wish it wasn't so expensive. By the way, Dakota is doing really well. I think he is so much happier now that he is pain free. He is so bubbly and just his happy normal self.
