Lily the Fairy Contest Card

Hello Everyone!! Wow, it's Thursday already. Time is flying so fast already! I decided to play along with the Pink Cat Studio "Lily the Fairy Contest". Stop by the Pink Cat Studio blog for the details. I'm part of the design team so I won't be able to win a prize but I decided to make a card for the contest anyway. I posted the details a few days ago on my blog as well.

I colored Lily with my Copic Markers, cut the image out and remounted her on a SU Pink Pirouette textured card stock. I also added a bit of Stickles to the image.

I cut the scallops using my Fiskar Mini Scallop scissors and used the CB Embossing folder to created the inverted dot embossing on the blue band going across the card.

This image is so fun to color and it's such a cute image. Anyway, be sure to play along and your card may be chosen to win the prize that Pink Cat Studio is giving away!!!

Be sure to scroll down for my "Photo of the Day" and a little story about my New Year adventure at Disneyland.

Card Details:
Image: Pink Cat Studio Lily the Fairy
Paper: K&Co Designer paper, SU Cool Caribbean, Purely Pomegranate, Pink Pirouette textured card stock, Creamy Caramel
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Thank you charm (?), Organdy Ribbon, Fiskar small scallop scissors, Coluzzle Circle Template, CB embossing folder, Deja View brads

"Funny Story About Disneyland New Year's Fireworks"

This holiday was not the only year that we vacationed at Disneyland.. We were there last year with the primary purpose of viewing the fireworks at midnight on New Years. On New Year's Eve, we entered Disneyland at about 3:00 in the afternoon with the plan of staying there until midnight. Well, by 7:00 in the evening, we were tired so we decided to return to our hotel room and rest for a while. Because we were staying at the Disneyland Grand California, we thought there would not be any problem re-entering Disneyland later in the evening.

Well. . .at 9:00 we decided to re-enter Disneyland and we were told that the park was full and we could not re-enter. I was so upset!!!!! I couldn't believe it. We didn't get to see the fireworks. I cannot express how disappointed I was. LOL!!

Fast forward to this New Year. . . .

Because we missed the fireworks last year, we decided to vacation at Disneyland again . To make a long story short. . . . we were smart this time and decided to enter the park at about 7:00 in the evening and before the fireworks went off, we parked our butts at a very nice spot to view the fireworks.

Here is the funny part. . . .

We had a really fun time prior to the fireworks at midnight. . .lots of music, dancing, and just having a grand ole' time. I was looking forward to seeing the fireworks!! Prior to midnight, we did the countdown and at 12:00 . . . . .NOTHING!! Yup, NOTHING! The fireworks went off and all we could hear was the exploding sounds but no fireworks. The fog was so dense that even at the close proximity that we were at, the fog covered up the fireworks. All we could see was the sky turning orange but that's it. LOL!

Oh, well. . .I was a little disappointed but not too much. . .I figured that we're not fated to see the fireworks at Disneyland. LOL! Other than that, we had the best time ever with my family and that's all that counts.

Anyway. . .the photo above is my daughter in front of "Small World" and the photo to the right is of my daughter, aunt, DH, and cousins at Disneyland.
Hope y'all have a fabulous day!!
